More regionals would be great. One in KC would be great - I've got a sister who lives there, so travel there should be easy to justify.
My big wish is: 2008 rules out before Christmas so I know what to get my son for Christmas - a F103GT, a brushless motor, or a couple LiPos.

Here is a good question.
What state offers the most amount of racers per event?
Pretty easy just go back to the race results and that will tell you were the biggest presence is. I dont see it being help back east for some reason but thats just a guess. I would love to see it held in the parking lot of Angel Stadium plenty of room they have some new asphalt there everyone knows the weather out here in the summer is quite predictable. Plus if were lucky we could catch an Angel game after I win Mini.

Memphis had 56 minis this year, so if you go by class then Memphis would be the Mini champ. I believe Memphis also had the greatest number of states represented out of all of the regionals. Not that I would recommend Memphis in August for the Nats!

Overall by the number of racers I'm not sure who won this year, but I haven't counted. Trackside looked like it had the most entries, but that would have included the Rally cars. But TA had the Tamtechs to add to the count. Not sure about SIR, but I hear they had a bunch as well.
It would be cool having the regional with the most entries hosting the Nats that year, but it would also be difficult making travel plans since the last regional is less than a month before the Nationals. Many of us had our California Nats trip planned as soon as the schedule came out (or at least I know I did).
As far as carpet vs. asphalt, I'm game for just about anything. Over the years I've run on just about any surface out there, including an arena basketball court (can you say DRIFT!). I don't have a "home track" in this hunt, so it really doesn't matter to me at all. Have Tamiya, will travel!

As much as I love making the trip to SoCal for the nats, I would have to say that after 13 Years there maybe its time to head east for a while , or maybe alternate between SIR and Trackside, or put it out for bid and let a different track host every year. Like Doc said, it would be good for the series. Any other supporters for a Detroit stop? If you back it, I promise you a good time. Sir Swiftalot, come east and tear it up!

HPI had their race there some years ago. It was on the south end of the parking lot. It was not too bad.

I will make it to the Nats next year come rain or shine even if its held in Bang Her, Maine (j/k) I have traveled to 34 of the 50 states so traveling for me is no prob. Detroit sounds like a cool place to hold it if tamiya is certainly closed by then who knows I also plan to attend atleast 4 regionals next year as well. I figure Doc and I could bunk in the same hotel. I'll get him drunk on the Napa fruit and persuade the motor secrets form him.
By the way you heard it here first I do plan to get a 416 and run GT2 or GT1
this season as well.

i'd say a change of rules is in order. haha.. j/p. This might not be the right bunch of folks to joke about a major rule change like that.
