if they're going to impound them during the weekend why the hell would they allow people to take them home during the week?!?!?! that seems really wrong

I seem to recall back in '05 we were able to take our mini (silver can) motors home with us on Friday night, but had to turn them in Saturday night. That was when the rumored "secret midnight dyno tests" were performed and the freaks of nature were going to be pulled. Not sure anything ever came out of that.

The rules this year say batteries and motors can be purchased on Friday during driver check-in. But we will only be impounding the motors Friday/Saturday night? Dang, that means we'll have something to do besides racing go-karts!

Last count, 20 Porsche/Ferrari Cup drivers! Congratulations, we all made the A-main!

I don't remember EVER being allowed to take home the handout motors, but then I'm old and forget a lot of stuff. Although with this year's RPM and amp draw thresholds, it would seem to me that there's limited value in keeping them at the track. On the other hand, VooDoo Magic seems to work better after the sun goes down...

Last year they put a label on the batts and they had to sleep over at Uncle Freddy's with the motors. Surprised that we will be able to take the batteries home this year- anybody know at which 'gentle' cycle they are supposed to be at their best?

Hey Wes, I've run my TT at our local track using the kit tires, but it wasn't fast enough to worry about handling. But can you say BOUNCY-BOUNCY!!

Default DANGER DANGER DANGER

We have early reports that there are Cheeseheads on the ground in Southern California. While we cannot confirm this as of yet, they seem determined to overtake and conquer a small portion of California in Aliso Viejo. Reports are definately sketchy at this time, but look for updates later in the week.

Exclamation Update at the Tamiya track!

Hey guys,
Just a heads up, talked with Fred, he said they will have a limited amount of 60D's for you mini's out there and he will have rims and tires for sale for the two mini Frog and the mini Porsche.
It was hot today, around 90 F. bring lots to drink!
All the tables, chairs and tent with generators are there also. I believe they have two generators in the tent. Track conditions...........hot, real hot!! Small crowd today, expect a lot more tomorrow! Oh yeah, one more thing no more exploding rivets from chairs. They now have new molded chairs.
Anybody have any spare buggy grip they would like to sell or share?
That's it!
Se ya at the track!
Max
