LATEST NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard Deven White will not be allowed to win any prizes including the trip to Japan due to his employment with Orion/PeakRacing and he collects an income from Gyro's hobbies in Laguna Hills, CA. I am just passing on the info as I read in the rules if this is true about him then the rules state he can not compete. If I were him I would protest.

Good luck to all...........and God (Tamiya) Speed
Just to let everyone know, I am not going to be disqualified because I work for Team Orion. A factory team driver is someone who is sent to races by the manufacturer and paid to race. I definitely do not fall into the Pudge category. I have never been at a race and had better equipment than my competitors, at the race i will be getting nothing for free. I have to buy the spec batteries and motors just like everyone else. There is no reason to bump me into the GT1 class, I don't race touring cars in TCS because I'm a college kid with no money and I can't spend $300 on tires and parts to be competitive. I get a small employee discount at Gyro but they don't sponsor me in any way. And I don't really appreciate people spreading rumors about me. If you don't feel that I am a legitimate competitor, please grow some balls and talk to me personally. Don't act like a teenage girl and gossip. And remember we're racing toy cars for bowling trophies.

And that, my friend, is the glory of The Internet. Glad to know we will be seeing you doing the Mini thing in a few weeks.

I must admit, this last week and a half, this thread has kept me amused sitting here in China with all the what if's and conspiracy theroies going on. Now I know where they get the stuff for soap operas.

With that said, the real reason there has been no battery announcement was because i used my consideral pull with Fred (I was the only person that actually brought Fred a Starbucks to the fun race) to not announce until I get back to the U.S. so no one can get any practice with the correct battery before me !

My name is Kevin Cole
I race GT-2
I am a Tamiyaholic who has flunked the R/C car 12 step program.
I use no inserts

You get to go to Japan to race toy cars for bowling trophies instead of veiwing a great and historical country............I can live with that.

Exclamation Eliminate the Competition?

Deven,
I think it was just wishful thinking on some of the other competitors to lessen the competition.
Just look who I'm up against in GT-1. Some real heavy hitters including my own son.
If you think about it, without any serious competition how can someone better themselves. Pushing yourself to the edge and drive above and beyond your ablility is what racing is all about. That's the rush you get when you compete!! Without that, what's the point? A trip to Japan, I've proabably spent enough money on RC to go first class round trip tickets and then some!
You know what I'm talking about! Right?
Bragging rights! That will get old real quick!
This hobby is about competition with friends and alike!
I guess you should be flattered that someone thinks your skill level is that of a Factory Driver that they would want you out of the competion!
That will be the day when that happens to me! Yeah Right!
See you at the track!
