In Memphis it was more of the blind squirel than being good. Nats will be a whole different ballgame. You guys will crush me there for sure.

GT2 is where all the fast guys are this year! If you look closely I bet you'll even see a ROAR National Champion signed up for GT2.

edited... i do see where it is discussed in the nats rules.

although, it does not state ANY sponsorship requires a move, it says that a person needs to judge themselves, and enter accordingly... and they will move you if its deemed necessary.

hmmm, some interesting selections on that list. I would be surprised if FMW does not adjust.

I was told he could run due to the rules in Canada being different than the US. Keith won the Canadian Champs and won a trip to the US.

Rules left open to interpretation are easy to come up with and hard things to deal with.Tamiya seems to have this issue quite a bit.Changing rules or forcing people to change last minute for what they have prepared for just because there was some grey area in the rule is kinda of lame.Make it crystal clear someone who wins a national championship of any type is not able to run GT2 in the rules and that would be the end of this conversation.Just because someone else doesn't want to run against someone who has won a national championship has nothing to do with what the rules state or in this case, don't state.Keith Yu is a perfect example.I have seen almost everyone in the top 3 of gt2 every year for the last couple years have been drivers who are highly capable drivers and quite possibly have some sort of support from a sponsor of some sort.Tamiya is at fault. Not the racers IMO.

BTW,any news on the battery situation?

Are you talking about the motor throwing incident? I dunno that they ever caught the guy but what a chode. And its not that whoever it is might still be running, but again if they know who did it if that person is being allowed to compete. There have been a few people bounced in the past and told not to come back. Marty will remember...Jabba the Hutt?

i was kind of thinking along these lines, except that unless the racer is local, it cant completely be Tamiya's fault, as they dont really have a good idea of how capable the driver is, without any experience. it should be up to the racer involed, to assess his/her own experience and ability, and adjust accordingly.

in some cases, it would be very tough on the racer, indeed... say they flew cross the country, and planned on GT2. and, didnt bring any batteries, knowing they would be using spec packs. they what does he do?

the main reason i decided to run GT1 myself is that i acquired a dialed asphalt MRE (thanx Dan and Chris!)... and i didnt want to worry about smoking black cans!

Wes
