Tamiya Championship Series

Yes, I was in that race back in I think 1994 or 1995. we were running F103 F1cars and I believe either Fred or Gary was Driving the Toyota Long Beach GP Pace car that had the Light Bar on the top of the Roof that was illuminated.
I remember we had 2 pace laps behind the pace car and everybody was warming up there tires (back and forth ) and then the pace dived into that pit lane just in front of the driver stand and we all took our spots on the grid as per our qualifying accomplishment. Then the horn went off, I believe I finished 5th overall. I know somebody taped the Pace Laps on a camcorder, it would be awesome to see that tape! It was really cool when we were doing that pace lap I will never forget it. People in the crowd were going crazy! it looked so realistic, just like a real F1 race!!!
I hope we all can do some bench racing and talk over old times from the Tamiya facility? I know it will be sad when it's all and done on 8/27.
I have thoroughly enjoyed racing @ Tamiya since it opened in 1992.
THANKS, TAMIYA FOR PROVIDING SUCH A AWESOME FACILITY I DO NOT THINK ANYBODY WILL BE ABLE TO MATCH IT.
Steve.

Does the closing of the track have any effect on future TCS races? I have just started racing under TCS rules with the intention of racing the in the Series for 08. There gonna be a series next year?

The TCS series is still very much alive, the only change being that the Aliso track will be gone. Details and such are not up to me but rest assured that the series won't end.
Let us worry about 2008 while you guys enjoy 2007.

I just spoke with Fred....
Before anyone goes out and changes their plans, the F103GT class will allmost certainly NOT be open as a second class. Read the rules carefully:
TamTech-Gear Off-Road Shootout
This class is open to anyone including non-TCS Finals racers.
Porsche Ferrari Cup
This class is open to anyone including non-TCS Finals racers.
No such wording for F103GT!
Also, F103GT will run the same format as:
Race Format for GT-1, GT-2 and Mini
Qualifying
GT-1, GT-2 and Mini will use the IFMAR format. All racers in a qualifying heat (10 racers in a heat qualifier) will be on track on individual clocks. After each complete round of qualifying every racer will be ranked based on a Qualification-points system.
and
Main Event Scoring
All A Mains will use the triple main format.
All lower mains will be single mains. There are no bump ups.
The F103GT information should be updated to remove any confusion in the next few days as soon as Fred can get it done!
Marty
ps My son Paul has registered for F103GT, not GT1 as stated earlier. He said he likes the challenge of 2 wheel drive.

I would say it's just an oversight by Fred. I think the rules said as long as the batteries are available to the general public then there shouldn't be any problem. I'll ask Fred this weekend when I see him to be certain!

I am surprised nobody, well except one is talking about the GT2 body rules or lack there of . . .
Did it fall between the cracks or is it still enforced?
Round 1 starts in 1 month. . .
