Is there anyway we can find out what the exact 23t handout motor will be at the nats so we can get some ordered up?

Are they going to use the black can again for GT2 this year at Nats? The day fred makes the rules announcement is the day I run up a large credit card bill courtesy of Speedtech!

Yes, both Mini and GT2 will be black can and handout battery, both must be purchased at the event. My guess is max three motors for GT2 (two for Mini) and max two batteries. No word yet on what the battery packs will be...

If you get an RR, RX and TX, you will be covered.

Kev

Where can we get those motors? For nats, can we buy our own or do we have to buy at the track?

There's a BZ 23T motor too. They could surprise us with those

Does anyone know who sells those motors? I see that speedtech and tower carries the RZ motor. How much would Fred charge for the motors?

I think if I remember correctly is around $30 for TCS final, you can buy 2 for racing.

Not sure where you are located, but Gyro Hobbies in Laguna Hills on Lake Forest (or thereabouts) near Aliso had several RRs and RZs in stock last August. Not sure if they still do (or if they are still in business for that matter), but if you are a SoCal local you could try them.

The BZ motor uses standup brushes though and it's supposed to be for offroad use. The RZ has the higher RPM of the three

I can loan you an RR to practice with. When you run the Nats, Tamiya USA will have them at the track to sell to you (I think it was $ 25 each last year and limit was two). The motors will be engraved, just like the Reedy, so you can not bring your own to race with. If you order an RR through Tamiya, they are in stock.... but $ 43.00 each.

I agree. I have both at home but never looked that close at them. The RZ is supposed to be higher RPM than the RR. The TZ has the blue end bell and the cheezy has the yellow end bell.

They are still around (under new and better ownership).

Jason - if you go to Tamiya this Saturday, look for Devin White (runs mini's and GT-1). Devin works there and might know if they have the motors still in stock.
