Who all's coming in from out of town for the Aliso regional? I'll be there, as will Marty, Bruce and Steve. I know Hicks is threatening to come down- anybody else? Troy?

Even though I have a second home down there, I'm not going to be able to get the resources together in time for the trip. I wish I could be there, getting more time before the track closes, but it will have to wait till August.

second home? more like a first home! you dont have to do chores here.

Any more word on the silver can motor thing? I read the post a couple pages back about current product, but a little more detail couldn't hurt...especially if it's directly from Sir Fred.

Hey, how about that sonic boom of a car rental you have. F-15 at mach 5... and it's free too... We'll see you in August Troy...

Yep.....yep! I'd like to know more as well. Like is this just a "local track rules" thing, or will this same rule now apply at Laurel?

I'm pretty sure this eliminates the magic 4-slot motor, as well as the white endbell motors (not that I had one of those that was special). What is a "current product" motor anyway? I have very few 540J motors that can get out of their own way, so if this rule sticks I'll be cycling through a box full of motors myself.

If they are going to start controlling silver cans, I'd personally like to see a "buy it at the track" rule much like the Nats. That would eliminate most of the "white box" or "voodoo magic" motors. The fast guys will still be fast, but the rest of us "motor-challenged" guys will not have to spend weeks sifting through every silver can we can find at their LHS or on eBay. We can just drop our $15 down that morning and race.

I know what you are thinking.....I could do that now and just buy ONE motor for the TCS races. But when given the opportunity to hunt out the best motors available, most of us will do that every time! It's all part of our competitive spirit. But if we're not given the choice, it makes it that much easier to accept.

But regardless of how they want to set the rules, I'd just like to know what the new rules are now so I can plan ahead.

I would like to see something in writing as well, some sort of official word on the matter would be nice.We should all be held to running the most current motors being sold by Tamiya and is distributors.According to Tamiya website, these are mabuchis and Type J motors.I have looked at all the distributors too and thats whats available.

Well, looks like I won't be going to Aliso until Nats.Good luck this coming weekend.

1 up for what Chris said. Fred is the man! That was the best run "fun race" I've ever been a part of.

Thanks Fred!
