The black can Mabuchi Sport Tuned motors are also 23 turn. If I recall correctly, GT2 at Nats also had to use spec 3300 packs purchased at the event.

Thanks guys. I'll pick up some B3s.

As for batteries, even if I build my own, can they be side-by-side or do they have to be stick packs? That's one thing the rules don't really make clear.

What type of chassis? OK to use side-by-side for TA04/05. But if the car was designed to take only stick packs then that's what you have to use.

What inserts are you guys running with the A's and B3's in GT2?
How many sets of tires are you guys using for the weekend?
How many battery packs should a person have?
Is a battery like the Orion IB batteries ok?
Also what motors are looking like the ones to have for GT2?

I am rushing around trying to get the necessary stuff together to be ready for GT2 in late June, but it will be a scramble! Any help is always appreciated.

Inserts depends on the class.... arrrrrg

Tires only last 1 round, if its really hot.

2 batteries for 1 class is safe.

The Co27 has been nice!

I'm in scramble mode too! So roughly how many tires would I need for the weekend? 5 sets or so?

If they are running the Nats type of format, 1 set for each race so if you are looking at 4 qualifying heats and triple A-mains you are looking at 7 B3s.
1-800-TAMIYAA could better answer the format of heats/mains.

Also you cannot forget your practice tires, which you could run more than once. Depends how competitive you think you will be on the track, as well as how much you can afford?

Thanks again, A-Ko. You're a big help! The rules say:

2. All races are 5 minutes in duration.
3. There will be two qualifying heats to determine the Main set-up order.
4. The qualifying format will be left to the discretion of the host site. The two options are IFMAR qualifying and heads ups qualifying starts.

So I guess I won't need to buy so many sets. Man TCS is expensive!

So, can anyone clue me in on what "THE" body to run is?

Jose,

Check out my post a page or two back. I listed the bodies used at the Nats.

Remember that Aliso is a two-day event, with two additional qualifiers- probably only three on Saturday since it seems thay will not have the track open for practice on Friday- with a fourth Q on Sunday morning and then the Mains. If it's run like Seattle they will have triple A's and double B's. Note that Seattle also had 6 minute Q's and Mains. Like the rules say, format is up to the host site...
