I hadn't even cracked the manual, but I did grab the rims and check to see if a mini tire would fit the rear. I figured someone would have already narrowed a pair of tires to fit the front rims. I'm just not very good at that sort of thing.

I just wanted a simple 2nd class to play with out there this year. The Tamtech buggies looked like fun last year, but I didn't have the time to put anything together. This year I wanted to be prepared. Now if I can just find the time to build it.

Doc,
You can put the Hickman Bros. and Mr. Hinkley on the attendance list!
The Hickman Transport will be leaving SoCal soon driven by Mr. Hinkley North on I-5 down the Grapevine and past the great arouma of Kettleman City cattle stock yards!! to SFO to pick us up on 6/8/07.

By the way nice AMG Ride! what model year is it? I can't tell by the picture.
Are going to call Ron Dennis @ McClaren F1 to tune on it for you? I have a Hyundai Dealer in VA that is also a MBZ dealer and they have a new MBZ SLK McClaren Gull wing F1 ride on sale for a cool $650,000 and it has your "Name on it"

See ya in Fremont!
Steve.

Steve,
I called to purchase that wonderfull motor-car, but it wasn't meant to be. Some scoundral absconded with the vehicle and departed post haste. Courses, my plot to out compensate the other Doctor has been foiled for the moment. I guess he won't need a new Harley after all with his AMG under seat.

Steve- Are you guys still bringing the Major Big Time Transporter?

That's a 2005 model C55, but aside from some minor interior details I think they're all pretty much the same. You probably know AMG no longer makes them- finding a good low mileage one was tough. There's a brandy new one in Oakland (I was soooo tempted to buy it and drive it home but am about out of vacation time) but just couldn't justify the transport price (on top of the gas guzzler tax, state tax, etc.). Mine has 8500 miles on it, so pretty close to new.

Ok this is a bit off topic, but where are the all the Socal tamiya guyes going to race when both of these local tracks close down?

This might put some pressure on the Tamiya guys to get a track open at their new digs. Last time I was in Tamiya, the word had changed from no track to not right away.

Most people have gone to Bending Corners Raceway. They now have asphalt and carpet tracks...

Check out the thread here on RC tech or click on my link in my signature.

Imagine this barrier system in a parking lot, but not this size. This is what will be most likely the "track" Tamiya America will have in the future. Understand that Tamiya America is moving into a office near the Irvine Spectrum. So they will have to get permission to use their parking lot from the owners of the property and the city to hold any events. So for the time being Bending Corners Raceway is a good place to get your R/C fix.

Wow, I'm in that picture. Where did you find that?
I will say that it was easy on the cars, I don't remember any broken parts all weekend.

And yes everyone I know I'll be up in about 4 hours watching practice for the Monaco GP and getting ready for the 1st day of practice for the Reedy Race. So good luck to everyone and remember to have fun. This is the little project I've been wrenching on lately.

Hey guys!

I'm seriously considering running TCS this year being the last chance to run at the Tamiya track and all. I have a few questions though that some of you guys might be able to answer. I couldn't make it out reading the TCS rules on Tamiya's website.

1. For GT-2, are the stock motors handouts or bring your own?
2. What type of Tamiya tires would I need, B3s?
3. Batteries, can I build my own side-by-side pack or does it have to be a stick pack?

Hope you guys can help!
Thanks!

Thanks for the track update george, though I can't even express how disappointing it is that Tamiya will be closing their track. This is even worse with the loss of SoCal.

I hadn't planned on it, but I will do whatever I can to get stuff together for TCS in June to get a last run in.

If yer talkin regionals GT2
1) bring yer own 27t motors
2) morning before 10am I'd run As (or before the sun peeks out) rest of the day b3s
3) build yer own or buy one

If yer talkin nationals GT2
1) GT2 becomes handout 23turn fer a nominal fee
2) same as above
3) handout stick packs fer a nominal fee

anything else... ayeee
