Neil,
I ran there once almost 1 year ago.
I can guarantee you that it will be cold. Type A tires were the ticket and we were using tire warmers to warm our hands.
The track is square shaped with lots of turns so you will probably gear a little lower. I'm pretty sure they are using road domes this year.

All that ling said is correct.A's are the only tire to bother using.Tried real B's and b2's-sucked.Last year we got lucky and sun came out.It was still 55 degrees out so prepare for that.Track surface is a little rough but all in all we had a blast last year and we will have a warm up race on the saturday before. So if you can make it,I would suggest you do.See you in february.

How is the race being directed? Meaning, is it more like backyard bashing directing, or like Tamiya HQ? IFMAR or heads up? Attendance from last year, high or low?

Neil,
It's a well organized race. The people running the race are motivated. I don't know if it will be IFMAR or heads up. Attendance should be pretty good...probably 80-100 people. As long as it does not rain, I assure you that we'll have a good time.

Last year, TA folks were here overseeing the operation of the race, so it should be run similar to the races at TA. We had celebrity announcers from one of the permanent tracks in the area as well. Racenut and I will be there early setting up the track, so come on by and give your input on the track layout. We'll have a layout drawn out by one of the locals that does excellent layouts, but we usually end up changing it slightly to eliminate areas of extreme carnage.

Hey guys, just a heads up that the TCS Nats coverage is in the new issue of RC Driver, and should be hitting news stands and mailboxes within the next few days. I can't believe I had a lens that was durable enough to not brake when I took Kahl's picture, and it even made the magazine!

Oh man Gary that's so harsh haha. Oh man, it seems like Kahl's always stuck in the barrel with everybody taking pot shots at him hehe. Just mention something bad about democrats or unions and he'll go through the roof

There is a Residence Inn Marriott within walking distance of the Newark race. I looked into it, it's about $79 USD per night. But that was a week ago at that price.

Yeah, but Tom's a great guy so he at least has that going for him. Mention something about democrats...he defends them or attacks them?

Man, I hate you guys for living out there. I want to race there again soon soooooooo badly

Oh, Rod there's a picture of you too, but my camera never worked right afterwards, so I need to know where to send the repair bill
