Neil, the sale was ape s**t! Thank you Tamiya for having this sale. It was really cool of them to clean out their closet. You could have bought a lot of kits for about 100 bucks. I mean A LOT.

Getting back to TCS. It looks like the 415 might be the car to beat. Testing shows that it can hold it's own against dialed Evo3's while the 415 wasn't properly set up. Interesting stuff.

rtypec Yeah it's not very nice to walk into a TCS race and beat up 12 year old kids for their prizes and send them home crying to their mommas...oh wait, a 12 year old did beat me...DAMN!
Uh, Scotty did this back in the day at like race #14 in the 4x4 truck class. Beat up on a bunch of kids. I hear it wasn't even close...
Gee, I don't see where I called Scotty a Cherry Picker here. Man needs to get himself thicker skin

Default Silver Can Motor

What is the best way to break in the Silver can Mabuchi motor to maximize its performance?

One of the ways I heard of is to run it in water. Is that correct and how do you do it with out shorting anything out?

Sale?? wow.. what did they have for the close out sale? any Monster Trucks? EvoIIIs? Parts?

I guess it's nice to stop by Tamiya every weekend... just in case they are trying to close out some items~

BTW, are they having another sale this weekend??

It's one of those rare instances where they had a sale. Typically, they would almost never do something like that but when they do, bring money hehe. Most of it is semi-old stock but a lot of collectibles. If you want an idea of prices, how about a Madcap for about the price you'd pay for a brand new set of TakeOff tires hehe.

sweet~!

Just that I saw 1.04 for those 1/24s (I assume they are the mini-racer thing).... that's dirt cheap...... I collect them, I used to race them too... lol...

wow.... I guess everything is around 20ish or lower... that's dirt cheap.... Just like that TA03R-TRF kit they had for sale during TCS final.... and the week after that... you can see tons of them on ebay going for triple the price... lol.... not a bad way to make some money and buy newer kits....

Nope it was a static plastic kits and other stuff.

Back to TCS, looks like the TB-02 has some promise to it as a good GT2 and GT3 car.

Yes, water is fine But i use rubbing alcohol with a teaspoon of metal polish mixed in. Not enough voltage in a 4 cell pack to 'short'. Just dip the motor in enough to cover the brush hood end and run it till the battery is empty and then motor spray it out. Inspect and see if the brushes still haven't seated. use a fiberglass brush cut at a 45 degree angle (so it can reach) to scrub the com after each run.

good luck!

Let us know when you are ready to dust the 04r and sell it. There might be some takers.
