Since your not allowed to alter the tire they were probably checking to make sure the belts or on the sidewall to tread seam hadn't been cut. There may be other tricks that don't show from the outside of the tire but these are the only 2 I have heard of. The belt trick was the hot setup on the f201 B tires for a while and the cut 26mm goes way back to the ta03 runners.

The only cut tires was the year of the Spec B2 and they had to do it to see the molded BB on the inside of the tire. Past that there is no reason or conspiracy to cut and inspect. It is still legal to make the mods to the tires Mark spoke of.

That is unless Fred applies Rule #18 know as the Loophole......

Cool ! Reminds me of the "jam car" section on the old Aurora slot car sets. I hope you guys are not getting any ideas for SIR in two weeks.

So would you recommend a ride height of 7 or 8mm for the F103GT ?

First TCS of the year in the books, 190 plus racers for the weekend. Long but fun Saturday and a great call by Scotty for the early start today. Home before 5pm. The racing all weekend was fantastic.

I talked to Fred about the gearing for the TL01 vs TT01 as the TL01 had an unfair advantage in the spec class. He said he will change the rule for the upcoming races to allow the TT01 cars to run the 20 tooth pinion this will give the TT01 a FDR of 7.93 vs the TL01 FDR of 7.96 instead of 8.36 vs 7.96 I don't think the .03 advantage will have a noticable advantage that the .4 advantage the TL01 has now.

Fred you and Larry did an awesome job this weekend. Thanks Again for this great event Tamiya puts on. And a Huge thanks to Scotty for the awesome place to host this great series. Wish I could go to some of the other events around the country.

Thanks for the great weekend.

A total echo on Larry. Good idea on the gearing- that never really made sense to me, anyway.

Lots of fun as usual at Trackside, just wish there was a carpet track locally where I could run rubber tires to practice before this season opener, 'cause I totally sucked. Many thanks to Marty, Steve Kalk, Jay, Pete, and all of the other racers in WI who make this an event worth the travel- yep, 13 degrees on Sunday morning!

Looking forward to Seattle weekend after next. Should also be a blast. Big thanks to Fred and Tamiya for putting on this series!!!!

Later
Doc

We have the Asphalt so you'll be dialed next weekend......

See you all in 2 weeks. Layout is in pics are in the NW forum and it should be fast.

GT1, 10.7
GT2, 11.2
GT3, 11.5
Mini, 12.5?
F103GT, 11.5
TamTech, Lot's of smiles

Should be close for all the times. The track is getting a nice groove. A little earlier than we wanted but we also had to change it for the club racing. The track will also have a slight change to keep it fresh for all the people just coming into town.
