Troy,
The track looks very fast and smooth, should be able to drop the TA05 down low and get after it! I hope you guys have plenty of B3's and A's in stock I bet the tire wear will be acclerated? How do the F103GT's run on the new surface? Maybe we can watch the F1 opener that weekend like last year in the pits that was cool! I am pretty sure that the F103GT will be a class this year in the TCS, I bet a track full of Courages will look pretty cool running around the track!
Can't wait for the race!
Steve.

I haven't been there when the F103GT's are running so I can't tell ya.
As for F1 if it is on You will be watching it.
I know there are some B3's on the wall, and I think there are a fair amount of A's as well.
Loads of Green inserts too.

Troy or Dan-
Last year B3's were the ticket. Are people running A's in GT2/3 this year? Just curious if the removal of the islands has affected tire compound choice...

Default Carpet Courage

Hello, I am looking for a TCS setup for the Courage on Carpet. Anyone have a starting point that they would wish to share? Thanks in advance for your help!

The first week or 2 bite was way down. It has come back in the last 2 weeks real quick. I did not think 12 was gonna be reasonable until after 'Birds but a few have been brave ad trying it out and have looked good.

All that said I think a B3 with a blue or green insert will be the choice. I would be heating them at 60C with maybe a touch of compound FX2 or Buggy Grip.

I got my daughter a TT-01R to run in the Spec class; but is it legal?

It came with the legal hop ups, but the stock pinion is a 22T and the stock motor is a 25 turn. I assume I need to get the 19T pinion (see rules) and run a silver can. Other than that is it legal?

Not sure, does it have alum body shocks? Those have not been legal in past years.

Probably not. Check the Tamiya rules from '06 on the website. It is very specific what you can do form the "stock" kit. About all you can hop up is the center shaft and I think bearings. You also have to use "kit" (not Type A or B) tires also for spec class. Again, check the '06 rules as VERY doubtful there will be any changes effecting spec class.

If the rules stay the same you'll have to dumb down the car. I think you will need to replace some R kits parts with the following:

1. Lower arms front and rear. #51003
2. Wheel axles #9005713
3. Dogbones #9005713
4. Gear diff joints #9005713
5. Step screws #50582 - replaces alum ball connectors
6. You may have to replace the aluminum turnbuckles with steel on the adjustable upper arms.

...............but rumor has it a few changes will be made to the rules in get the R chassis qualified for the Spec class.

Thanks all for the comments.
I guess she'll practice with what we got (but with a silvercan) and then adapt as the rules get posted.

By the way, I'm used to driving higher end road cars and while there was a few design items I thought were poor, the TT-01 was handling suprisingly well. The rear diff pinion has way too much drag that I gotta free up; hopefully it can get better speed while staying with legal gear ratios.
