I know for format TCS has always been 2 quals and 1 main. Scotty started running triple a's the last year or 2. Currently we are running TCS as a Sunday race format with Saturday as all day practice possibly timed practice. We have also talked about running triple A's and double B's. This would put more emphasis on track time for all to enjoy.

I think '07 would be a great time to try that since a few more of us So Cal'ers are coming up.

JC,
What's the scoop on when the rules will be ready. Swing by 2 Orion and let us know.
Are you planning a trip to Wisconsin? I'm fairly certain we will have snow for you in March.

Default Question...

just a general question to the faithful TCS racers out there...

what's everyone's general opinion on legalizing lipos for TCS? i hear the Canadian TCS has it legal. AND they have an F103GT class (correct me if im wrong )

no flaming. just general discussion. it'll help pass the time.

Thanks Tamiya, both Cinn and Frederick, MD are both gone from the schedule....

I've had my last TCS race and I'll be selling off my Tamiya cars because I'm not keeping them for just 1 race a year. Sorry to see it end but thats the way it is....

And on the Dec 23rd charity race in Frederick, MD I will run my mini for the last time before it goes on the block.... F201 to follow at the same time....

I think it should be legal at least for gt1. I also think it would make racing cheaper too the other classes. people wouldn't spend so much cash on new packs for the race

I don't think anyone should get their panties in a bunch just yet. The rules aren't even out yet. Tamiya has added races in the past and we all have been doing our share of bitch'n and suggesting they tell us what they can when they can. If you hold your breath you'll turn BLUE. As John said "Patience Padawan..."

As far as lipo's, I would hope NO! Cost for a new charger and a couple of packs is not an expence I have been planning on. It would be nice to let us know at least 6 to 9 months in advance of a major change such as Lipo's.

BTW, anyone have a 414 M or M2 for sale, cheap?

I would not mind seeing the option of Lipo's or NIMH's like they ran at the KO race earlier this year. There was a lot of fears about lipo vs. NIMH and it turned out that both options were competitive at the top main's level. This would allow people the option top use what they have, and another option for these looking to upgrade or replace.

Hey, Tamiya posted the series, I'm not wasting any of my time to find out if they are adding races or not. And yes, you will see Tamiya "stuff" for sale here and on Ebay... A lot of East coast sellers I'm will to bet.

I am in the process of being lipo capable ( got the pack, waiting for the charger to arrive). I really feel strongly that it would be an equalizer. because you no longer have to worry about voltage and IR because everyone has the same pack. No more carting discharge trays and all that crap to the track either, and you dont have to cycle them or cast any voodoo magic to make them work right. One pack one charge for practice and quals, and a top off for the main(or so I have heard). So give me the downside again?

The Downside is no Cinci... one of the best races in the Series!
