any speculation on the size of the turn out for the Aliso TCS this year...possible total racer record broken? (track seemed packed last weekend with people testing in TCS spec cars )

I'd kill for the 80's in July. We were sitting around 98~100 F this past weekend with high humidity. Instant sweat (not that I need any help in that department)! My batteries were temp peaking at just 2400 mAh!

Of course, I've been to Ft. Irwin in the summer and felt what it was like at 125 F and low humidity. The wind felt like a hair dryer.

Can't wait to get out there! TWO WEEKS!

Hopefully it won't be to insane with enteries (read finishing A's in the dark like last year). I have to be at LAX that Sunday night for a flight so my fingers are crossed.

this summer has been pretty hot compared to past summers. although when i went up to fremont for TCS..they thought 80 deg F was a "heat wave"

for Seattle folks... 72 deg F is a heatwave.
Hey hey hey hey, a clear day without clouds, no mater what the temp is a heat wave here.

GT2 it is looking like you can run any body except the ones outlined in the current rules and the Ferraris and NSX.

I did speak to Fred today he was hoping to get the rules out on monday so it is probably safe to say sometime next week.

Motors and Batteries will have a price-break and quantities will be in the 2 to 3 motor/battery per person limit. The number was un-decided as was the price...

Speedweek will start Tuesday before and they will have tables setup. This might be a nobrainer now but in the past tables did not show up till Thurs or Friday. If you are practicing on Friday you can reserve that table for then on thru the weekend. Tuesday thru Thursday the table situation is a free for all.. no reservations. . .

There are a few other surprizes that can be minor or major depending on which side of the fence you are on.

I am excited for another Aliso Event! ! !

I hope Fred has plenty of the Black Can Mabuchi Motors for GT2 & Mini, with the potenial heat issue in August in So Ca we can be sure that "sweet arouma of burning epoxy insulation" will be filling the Aliso air !!!!

As Steve Matchett says "GAME OVER" for somebody in the last qualifier to get into the A Mains. I am sure people will be gearing these things to the "Moon"

GT2 for me, see ya on 7/23/06 and 8/20/06.

It is going to be interesting and exciting.

Steve.

Did Fred M get a waiver from the EPA and Cal's Emissions folks to even run the infamous Black Cans during the hot summer months ?
You cant set the tires on fire anymore, must be an EPA thing too.

What's a good, cheap hotel within a reasonable driving distance to Tamiya America? I'll most likely be coming down for the LA regional by myself so i'd like a place that's more cheap than good
