RTolle-
Any idea how many locals are going to be at the TCS race next weekend? Maybe the racing culture there just doesn't include online activity, but there don't seem to be many people from that area posting on RC Tech and the Forum on the WOH site is virtually silent with regard to the TCS event.

Looking forward to seeing the Ohio folks and WOH track again (and the start of the 2006 TCS season)!!!

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!

Later
Doc

RTolle, thanks for the 411. I'm sure we'll find several fun things to keep the kids happy from that list. Of course if it were to snow 2-3" they'd be thrilled to death. We don't get much snow down this way.

Doc, I'll have to go with Ed at 10 tops. Other than the Coopers there is no other tamiya class supported on a weekly basis. Also b/c everyone runs foam on there TC's they flat out refuse to run rubber anywhere. That includes outdoor asphalt tracks.

MiniMadman, my personal favorite activity is Skiing. Perfect North Slopes (www.perfectnorth.com) is a great place to check out and they also have a tubing area. I'd say it's about a 45min drive from the track.

All right i found something in the "new" TCS nationals rules for 2006 that doesn't make any sense

New for the 2006 Finals:
1. The GT-1 class will be allowed to use any sports car or touring car body as usual.

Why is this new? we've always been able to run any sports car or touring car body. I don't get it.

I rest my case.

I think it's because they are limiting the GT-2 and GT-3 classes bodies.

I'm bringing my F201 into town for the Cinci TCS race, so that looks like at least 3 of them, hopefully more.

I know that my travel mate Steve Key is bringing his RWD mini - I will probably bring mine just in case there are not enough F201's.

We'll also be running our GT-1 (me) and GT-2's (Steve).

Running rubber tires is a blast - Here in Milwaukee it is the dominant class, both Tuesday nights and Sundays, with multiple heats each night. Minis- last week on Tuesday I think we had 9 for a regular Tuesday club race.

I'll have the F201, the FWD Mini, the RWD Mini, and the GT1 car with me. The only class that right now I think is a definite is GT1. I don't want to get caught in another 3 car class like GT2 in Atlanta last year. But on the flip side, I don't want anyone to be sent home packing because there aren't enough cars to fill a class and that was their only car.

I believe that there are 3 of us from Detroit running F1, and if I am not mistaken Hickman Racing will have 2 entries. So it looks at this point like we have the minimum covered. I would think that by the time we get to race day we will have at least a 10 car field.

The Alabama gang is bringing 2, possibly 3 racers this year. One running GT1, and the other I believe is GT2 and mini. I'm in for GT1 and leaning towards F1 now that I hear there's going to be a decent showing. But it all depends on the happy hour "test and tune" session on Saturday.

So what's the word, yello? You sponsoring Mr. Ed in mini again?

Default TCS Cincinnati

Brad,
Bruce and I are only running GT2 @ Cinci and Trackside this year. We have hung up F1 and will be focused on the TAO5. It appears that Tamiya's focus is on the Sedan Racing? The F103GT looks like it can be a real neat class to be popular in the future. I still havre a ton of F103 parts left over from the old F103 days. Brad you and Dish and Mark need to come to Frederick, Md on 3/18 for the TCS you will really like the surface and the track.

See ya in Cinci this week.

Steve.

Thumbs up

Well if no one shows for GT3, at least I have a Stock motor I can run GT2. I doubt that will happen. Last year it was a pretty full spread in each class, there were even 4 or 5 kids that ran the spec class.
We raced mini's tonight and my car is ready. Looking forward to this coming weekend.
