I hear ya bro, I did four years in Uncle Sugar's Yatch Club. There's nothing like being deployed overseas to make you appreciate being about to come back home.

I am planning on making the trek to the Memphis TCS race this year, but am worried since they moved to a time of year that rains a lot! I'd hate to make the trip to just get rained out!

The folks who live there (as well as the Alabama crew who comes each year) assure me that the rain that time of year heads southeast toward Atlanta and not into Memphis. At least I hope so. After two years of rain in Atlanta, a dry track at the end of April would be nice!

Well July hasn't been a very favorable time for the race either. The past few TCS events it was either 100+ or threatening rain, or both! And unlike the "dry" heat out west, we get to enjoy 100 degrees with high humidity. Trust me, it makes a difference. I was comfortable at the Nats in Aliso and couldn't believe they were saying it was upper 90's.

I think late April will be perfect. But then again, with the wacky weather down south it's likely to be SNOWING that weekend.
