I like running in the rain, it is the ultimate in car control. It was real fun with the 103's , but the 201's are fun too

Ok ok... I was just posturing with the Linder. I wish I had one too, because that's one hot car! Unfortunately none of the body sets I have would qualify, unless Fred dreams up a Tamiya Classics class.

Gee , can you tell I collect ?

As in Opel Vectra, Skylie R33's and R32's, and mid '90's C-Class ?

And to think, I just gave my 350Z that I won concourse with in Fremont to my HK friend becuase he loves the Fairlady Z. Maybe I need to get it back.

OK - here's my potential starter list from memory. Note, not getting into the older FF01, TA03, TA02, TA01 bodies. They are becoming to valuable to bash.

Skyline R34 Xanavi version
Skyline R34 (older version) Calsonic version, regular or lightweight
Nissan 350Z
Mercedes C-class (any year)
BMW M3 Schnitzer
Toyota Tom's Supra 2000 (190mm version. The '95 TA02-W version is 200mm)
New Esso Toyota Supra (Japan only release so probably a no).
Opel V8 coupe
Corvette C5-R (?)
Porsche 911 GT-3 "VIP" (?)
Toyota Altezza (also a 200mm body so this may be a no)
Alfa Romeo 156 (Selenia Oil)
Alfa Romeo 155 (Bosch or Martini)

going by what Fred mentions above. 350z is not legal. not sure about the Corvette, Porsche, or Skyline. (Skyline might be legal since the regular 240 has four seats Same with the supra.)

Thank you Fred for:

Keeping the F201, despite all the rumors of the class demise for TCS. For those that sold them on the rumor, get them back and ready to go.

Keeping Nats in August so the kids can join us - we are racing TOY cars.

Restoring the vacation aspect of Nats - Track opens on Tuesday YEAH

Bringing back the sedan bodies to GT2 - body variety is great.

Fred - Please clarify:

In rear drive Mini's, the rules are vague on pinion. I assume you mean that M04M's get 21, but M04L with sedan tires are 17 tooth, but you need to make that clear. Otherwise, long outdoor tracks will be M04Ls only.

F201 Motors - do you mean to use the same 19T spec motors listed for GT1, or something else - the rules don't say.

Really looking forward to the opener at Trackside in March 2006. Rally cars on indoor dirt track as special class, two day, triple A's - a real blast.

Yes I agree the rules for the mini classes need to be clearified as it states in one part of the Rules:

“Mini” Chassis M03 (Front Drive);

9. New for 2006: It is now allowed to use the maximum pinion gear size on all front-drive Mini cars. I.E. 20-tooth on the M03 would be the maximum pinion allowed.

“Mini” Chassis M04 (Rear Drive);

8. New for 2006: It is now allowed to use the maximum pinion gear size on all rear-drive Mini cars. I.E. 21-tooth on the M04 would be the maximum pinion allowed.

And then the rules state the following;

The following is the maximum size gears that are allowed for each mini chassis type:
M0-4 with Sedan type tire: max pinion 17 tooth
M-04m (Alfa and Eunos Roadster body only) with 60D tires: max pinion 21 tooth
M0-3 with 60D tires: max pinion 20 tooth
M0-1/2 with 60D tires: max pinion 20 tooth
M0-1/2 with 26MM sedan tires: max pinion 18 tooth
Running a M0-3 with sedan tires is not legal.

So are we able to use the Maximum size pinion's or are the Maximum allowed pinions the ones listed above. The rules contradict themselves.

I'm probably being goofy by asking but...here goes why is GT1 running 19x at the regionals when they are not running them at nats? Seems to me better to practice year round (regionals) with what you wanna run...

Anybody got a clear Porshe 911 body they wanna sell me? PLEASE...

The reason for 19T motors is because you can get them anywhere. The 23 turn Tamiya motors are harder to come by in most places, or I should say that they would have to be special ordered and no hobbyshop owner is going to order a boatload of motors with the hope of selling them on race day. I really like the 23T, I wish more tracks would run it.

Am I correct in understanding that the following would also qualify:

Beams Integra Type R
ABT Audi TT-R
Audi A4 DTM 2005
Mercedes 190E EVO-II AMG
Lexus GS400
Most Rally bodies (Imprezas, Escorts/Foci, Xsara, Lancias, Corollas, Evos, Peugeot 206)

Sounds like the intent is to base the look of class on production cars available to the common man, not just the folks who bathe in caviar on a daily basis. 2-door sedans, tho? Aren't those called coupes?
