Yup, will definetly get one of these to play with and one to collect to go with my original release. BTW - the partial car in the backgroud is the Ferrari F40. Those are the cool 5-spoke rims they have. Can't wait until this one is released......

Man, I have to say... It would be very cool to see a whole group of those Class C's running. Nothing like scale realism to make ya go oooooohhh!

thats only if they ALSO release unpainted bodies. it'll be pretty confusing to watch 10 of the same cars or even 5 C11's and 5 787B's going around the track.

So did they do the Silk Cut car as a body kit? I dont remember ever seeing that one, again could have been Asia only. I was going to stop collecting, but I see a couple of cars that have my name on them, to go with my original C11, which by the way I won at a TCS regional.

I remember seeing a Silk Cut version before (body set only). Just can't say for sure if it was a Tamiya original or a custom. Guess that's what happens with age.

If TCS 2006 USA Rules had a Group C Class,
who would run it?

So far the winners are;

403forbidden - Just say Cheese.
A-ko - Does this mean I can run 4 classes at Trackside...
BP Shadow - Might be good with GT2 and a steak dinner.
doc - Running a shrink wrapped box with wheels sticking out of it...
Hebiki - Is hoping it might replace his real car...
Kevin CBR - Didn't I start the Group C hysteria. . . ?
Leester-111 - Don't stop running it when he moves to Laguna Nigel in 2007.
mr_postman - Could be in vacation limbo.
tom dav - Credit car holstered for immediate announcement.

Some Group C part ##s;
58351 - 1/10 MERCEDES-BENZ C11 (FINISHED BODY)
58352 - 1/10 JAGUAR XJR-12 DAYTONA (FINISHED BODY)
58356 - 1/10 Ferrari F40 (Finished Body)
58357 - 1/10RC MAZDA 787B(FINISHED BODY)
50397 - RD4428 front sponge tires (2 pcs)
50398 - RD4445 rear sponge tires (2 pcs).
50399 - Black spoke wheel set (Mercedes C11)
50404 - White mesh weeel set (Jaguar XJR)

Yeah, they definatly need unpainted bodies or everyone will end up driving someone elses car, (oopps I thought that was my car!)

Then again, it would then sorta look like the Mini class. All different colors, but one heck of a lot of Rover Mini's,,,

And spares. More than just tires and rims: arms, gears, t-bars & uprights at least. Or else we'll wind up buying extra kits just to get the parts to keep on racing. Sometimes that's the cheapest way to outfit yourself for an entire season of racing, but it does tend to turn some people off....

I would think that they would eventually offer clear bodies and extra parts.
It is part of the Tamiya marketing machine.....

I actually have a pretty good stock of 102 parts that I aquired while restoring some old chassis. The stuff is still out there and for a reasonable sum. I dont think they will evolve the chassis type, I think they are rereleasing these kits so that people can enjoy them without taking out a second mortgage to pay for them.

You may be right, Brad. After all, there's never been a Mini TRF or R version and they've been a part of the TCS series ever since they were released. Same with the TL01, although one could argue that the LA version was an upgraded platform. I'd just be happy if I could get my hands on a 101/102 series metal motor mount- those plastic ones can break in an impact.

Doc,
I believe that the 103 motor mount will fit, because the old cast one for the 101/102 will fit on a 103. I have some parts laying around, I will check it out and get back to you. If not I may be able to come up with 1 or 2
