Well that is a dumb fucking rule. No wonder RC racing is dying. Maybe some other time then

It's been the same rule for as long as I can remember. You have to qualify for the finals. The regional events throughout the year are called qualifiers for the finals. GT2, mini and Pro Spec are Japan trip winning classes. So it only makes sense that only racers that have qualified to be in the finals have a shot at a trip to the worlds

From what I remember, you used to have to make the A main in a class at a regional race to qualify for the nationals (2008/09 ish?). Not just attend a regional. So it has become much more lax.

Yes, it used to be you had to qualify in the top 10 within that class to qualify. I believe as far back as 97, that was the rule

Thank you Tamiya and Hobbyplex. It almost feels like a second home with a great group of racers. Always a good time and worth the road trip!

Thanks Raman. That was her first race with the TA08, surprised it won against TA07s and TB05s. Excited to meet up with Vue and others in Japan

My 9 year old son used to run it as well! TA08 is very easy to drive and very light, great corner speed. The TA08R that they announced addresses a few week points, which will make it even better.

Best of luck to her in Japan.

The TA08 may work good on the blue carpet that they run on. Me and Vue were talking about seeing you there too. We enjoy watching your channel.

Been home a few days so far after spending an additional 4 days in Tokyo. By far one of the most memorable things I've done in my life. All the years and money spent on tuning, racing, and traveling to TCS races was all worth it.

Great to connect with Joel and even some Japanese racers too!

Does anyone know if the 2024 rules will remain the same? They look more defined now from this past 2023 season.

Default What's the surface in Japan?

A friend was watching the TCS race from Japan on YouTube. The surface is blue. I did a search and see that it was been since at least 2019 or 2109. Is it carpet or something else?

I want to know what the barriers are made of.
