"Limited Version" Ferrari F40 also now available overseas. Prepainted body, presentation box- other than that (and the lovely chrome wheels), I don't think it's any different than the other Group C kits. I never raced with that body but I'd guess it wouldhave much less downforce than the others.

Now...where's that R91C?????????

Later

The Ferrari F40 kit is same as the other Group C cars. All the plastic parts are black, same as the other reissues compared to the red suspension braces parts on the original. The reissue has the same beautiful Silver 5-spoke wheels as the original. The body is pretty aero. The kit with the prepainted body has the "real" F40 type rear wing that will probably only be good enough for spreading mayo on your sandwich. However, the Tamiya AO body set with the lexan 2002 NSX shape rear wing could be a sleeper. Guess I will have to paint mine up and try it out.

Nissan R91 would be awesome, as well as if they rereleased the Silk Cut Jaguar body that ran at LeMans.

Hebiki - Here are the P/Ns:

P/N 50399 - Black spoke wheel set (Mercedes C11)
P/N 50404 - White mesh weeel set (Jaguar XJR)
P/N 50397 - RD4428 front sponge tires (2 pcs)
P/N 50398 - RD4445 rear sponge tires (2 pcs).

oh yeah, and if you get the Tamiya AO (Aftermarket Service original items) clear Ferrari F40 replacement body, it comes with a clear Lexan NSX shape rear wing with the plastic body posts instead of the plastic wing like the kit has on the prepainted bodies. These are the bodies you see floating on E-bay and are usually only available form Japan / Asia sources.

thanks. now i can get my mazda 787 hi dyaz! i see you reading this thread.

The Jag has already been announced, it was shown the same time as the Merc. It is the same as the Silk Cut, only with Castrol livery.

I already have a Castrol Jag. I was just thinking it would be cool if they re-released the Silk Cut body only.....

If TCS 2006 USA Rules had a Group C Class,
who would run it?

So far the winners are;

403forbidden - Just say Cheese.
BP Shadow - Might be good with GT2 and a steak dinner.
doc - Running a shrink wrapped box with wheels sticking out of it...
Hebiki - Is hoping it might replace his real car...
Kevin CBR - Didn't I start the Group C hysteria. . . ?
Leester-111 - Don't stop running it when he moves to Laguna Nigel in 2007.
mr_postman - Could be in vacation limbo.
tom dav - Credit car holstered for immediate announcement.

Some Group C part ##s;
58351 - 1/10 MERCEDES-BENZ C11 (FINISHED BODY)
58352 - 1/10 JAGUAR XJR-12 DAYTONA (FINISHED BODY)
58356 - 1/10 Ferrari F40 (Finished Body)

OK, once last time here,

I was refering to just the Silk Cut body only. It was never released as a kit.

Since Tamiya is rereleasing the Ferrari F40 body as an AO item, it was just wishful thinking they would do the same for the Silk Cut body. Nice thought but will probably never happen.

Now that's what I'm talking. The real Silk Cut Jaguar. Complete in LeMans trim with the low rear wing.
