With a TT02 you will be off pace in GT2 due to the limited gearing options with the Mod 6.

GT2 rules however say nothing about running 64p gears. So you could potentially run a spur in the 80 and a pinion in low 40s. Getting the mesh right however is going to drive you crazy with the TT02 motor mount

Just a repeat, the Yeah motor mount would not be TCS legal, nor would cutting out the area where the pinion goes to make the biggest pinions fit.
Also, trying to set a proper gear mesh with the limited fixed position motor mount would be problematic at best.

I was running Tamiya B3 slicks on 24mm wheels with medium inserts and had very little traction. I was unable to really get a good time in the first heat with the back end coming around the entire time.

I purchased a set of kit wheels and slicks and was able to get around the track much better. I was holding 3rd in the 2nd heat and then my servo saver screw popped out causing me to not finish the second heat.

All in all it was really fun despite the issues and next time I’ll be much better prepared! I was able to win a new Opel Body which will be next years Concours body.

Congrats on your concurs win. Get that paint brush going quickly, there will be a race at Jackson RC, NJ soon. Add a little threadlock to the screw and go!

Thanks to Big Dog RC for putting on such a nice event. Euro truck was the largest turnout and F1, GT1, GTE, ProSpec Spec Novice and other classes along with Concurs.
The Big Dog rack is absolutely huge, yet the infield has challenging turns. Thanks to the Punisher for showing me a few track secrets! There are lights but we finished with the sun high in sky. The track surface was clean, prepped, hot (I saw 150F+), and sticky. The large, shaded pit area right next to the track was nice, and a concession food truck kept us fed. There were plenty of tires in the shop with many different ratings. I bolted on a few fresh sets and they worked great. Finally, Kudos to the tech team for keeping a close eye on everything! They were not afraid to dig in and check! Yes! We need this at all TCS races.

Trying to get the best FDR possible to run a TCS legal TT-02 in GT2 (requires use of a Tamiya TT-02 motor mount).
A helpful web site at https://www.ultrascale.uk/node/15 that calcs gear spacing for different teeth and gear types (Mod 0.6, 64P, etc)

The max spacing the motor mount allows is Mod 0.6 64T spur and 29T pinion, giving a center separation of 27.90mm. Any combo of 93 total teeth (spur+pinion) will yield that same separation.
That gear separation in 64P pitch is between 140-141 teeth (27.78-27.98mm separation). Between these gear totals, 64P is either 0.12mm under or 0.08mm over the Mod 0.6 64/29T spacing. Less than a 1/10 of a mm, I’m sure is with the tolerance of the kit.

Below is a table that shows the different 64P Spur/Pinion combos that are needed to get the TT-02’s FDR into the Reedy 21.5T-FT typical track range of 3.10-3.25 (yellow). While pinions of 62-65T are required, the largest 64P pinion that fits into the TT-02 case without rubbing is 48T. That would cap the FDR at 4.98 (green); better than the 5.74 we’ve been working to, but still uncompetitive in GT2.

So, GT2 is out for my TT-02, and now I need to find 1 of the 5 unobtainium legal bodies to run Pro Spec.

That is an interesting calculation. Gearing, tire, body and other restrictions are a huge part of TCS. Rules specifically prohibit making changes that are common in other racing.

But what are the 5 unobtainium bodies? That is an interesting comment.

Do take note of the Mercedes body - there are other versions than the ProSpec legal 51590 which has multiple vertical grill lines

Part number 51534 is similar but has a horizontal grill line

2nd white one is the Mercedes SLS AMG and is not a legal ProSpec body. Only the AMG GT3 is legal

Looking to run F1 at the Broadway WA race next weekend.
Spec tire is the F1 - CRC Pre-Mounts (CLN2320). The hubs are too small for the F104v2 axle and don't fit.
Anyone else have this problem?
My TCS spec tires used at IIC (back in 2013) fit fine; did the standard change?
Appreciate thoughts.

Hey. Be careful that you did not get the WGTR pre-mount that look very similar.

the crc wheel is VERY tight fitting on the hex. It's normal for them to be very tight and hard to get on and off. You will have to force it on.

Any news from the Broadway WA TCS race?

The regional race at Jackson RC was run under sunny but sweltering skies and attracted lots of racers. I think they announced over 80 cars. Thanks to all the Jackson RC guys running the races and doing tech and to John Brown and Brown's Hobby Shop of Staten Island for bringing lots of spare parts.
