Tamiya Championship Series

Looks like the whole year might be written off at this rate.

I reached out to Joe Ruggles on Facebook, but haven't heard anything back yet. Will let everyone know when I do.

I would say the TCS race at Access Hobbies in Ohio. Is for sure canceled or at least going to be rescheduled for a later date as we have stay at home orders in place till may first. If I hear something Scott before you do I'll post it here.

Thanks, Justin. I'm getting twitchy going without racing for so long.

Joe did get a response from Fred at Tamiya. With Tamiya being closed, the prizes, etc can't be shipped. We await word on a rescheduled date. I've spent my time doing maintenance and upgrades that often get neglected. Hope to see everyone trackside soon.

I wouldn’t write this season off yet, we still have June,July and part of August where regionals could be run. If we make it through this next week, the worst of the virus should be behind us and we can start getting back to our daily lives, maybe a bit different than we are used to, but not on lockdown.

The TC01 has so much potential. It is rather clever it was designed to run the FE body as well as TC. With the success of the truck class and the economic pain we are all going to feel after covid 19, this could be a spec class to help keep racing going. With the similarity to the F201, the ( assumed) kit esc, Fixed timing 17.5 and bearings would be a lot of fun. Any other thoughts?

And please develop a TCS aspect: while this car can play with others, a spec class with a Tamiya esc, a Tamiya motor, and a set of Tamiya tires on Tamiya wheels WILL be popular in this day and age

Fellow racers: What would like to see for a new spec class? I don't want to dilute ProSpec which is doing well.
Another brushed motor class? Fixed gearing for the Class?

Is the TC01 supposed to be able to compete with the TB and TA level cars? I'm not sure where this chassis would run. it's already hard enough to gather full classes outside of mini and euro truck. Pro spec is really growing in popularity in our area and is fine as is. I think the classes have finally been figured out and I feel all the tamiya cars now fit into their correct classes.

I dont think it should, but They are trying to make a jack of all trades. I feel you on Pro spec, but there is still a lot of room for tuning. I think with just bearings, Hobbywing fixed ESC and fixed time 17.5, and a spec everywhere tire, This could have the same impact as truck, without hurting other classes.
