Default group c

So when is Tamiya going to make it a TCS class for 06'.
Sounds like a fun class that could be cheap and fast. Oh yeah, never mind

The group C's use the same size for the front wheels as the standard TA04/05/415/TB bearing. I think it is a 1150. (total 4)

You will aslso want to upgrade the three plastic bushings in the rear diff to 1280 bearings.

Kevin C, Mr. Davies, Doc.... all the F103/Group C experts....

can the stock tires on the Group C cars be replaced with regular foams? (i.e. the hex size is the same?) or do i have to hunt down old discountined tires for it? thanks! i have one coming in real soon.

Hebiki-
If I remember correctly, when we couldn't find Tamiya stock when the original stuff wore out, we'd just clean off the rims with lacquer thinner and reshoe 'em with 10th scale foam donuts. At the time, there was a much broader range of foam available for 10th scale pan cars than you could get from Tamiya.

I've been away from the foam stuff for so long I don't know what's out there anymore, but seems to me we used to run white, grey, or pink in the rear and purple up front. Others may remember differently.

So who is ordering their own personal Group C car?

Talked to Gary earlier in the week about the schedule. They are going through trade show nutsy coo coo stuff. Maybe in a couple of weeks, still waiting on a few tracks, some were in a kinda of limbo.

Dont they usually wait until after the worlds to post the schedule and rules?
Last year it seemed like they weren't posted until January
I will likely run F1 and Group C if either one is a class, if not probably GT2
GT1 is too outta hand for me, although I will make my final decisions when the rules and classes come out

Brad, you are correct: January 11, 2005 is when this year's rule were posted. Six weeks before the first event. Hope we find out earlier this year! Some of us gotta plan waaaaaaayyyyy in advance

Doc,

So are you saying that you bought one?

Waiting 6 weeks before the 1st race is wayyyy too late to get the rules. The main reason is availability of parts and ordering them. I agree some of us need to and are trying to plan stuff wayyyy in advance and need to plan around some of the dates. Fred did say by the 1st of October and TCS Canada has posted theirs by that time.

I concur. I have to submit my request for the 2006 vacation period, next month (mid-November). With my employer, once the schedule is set, it's cast in stone. It's really hard to make any changes to it, and I really hate to have to call in "sick" to make an out-of-region race. It would be nice to know when the race dates would be.

Knowing what changes (if any) in the different classes would be a good thing also. RWD Mini? Group C Class? Mabuchis for GT-2 (and dropping GT-3)?

... and of course, the ever popular, hot-button rebate. What tires will we be running for the GT classes?

Inquiring minds wanna know!

TC

Jeff-
Let's just say that there's a rather large pile of shrink-wrapped boxes sitting in the corner of The Secret Underground Laboratory...

I'm keeping my options open!

So Doc, are we to understand that you didn't buy one? But many?
Have you heard whether or not the bodies will be availible in clear form as well as pre finished?

I will as soon as they announce the class. Im sure this would not be a class at nationals but It would make my decision to go very easy.

Default Mini @ nats

With talk of rwd and fwd mini @ nats could they run together for the heats and mains. This could save time for group C.
