Thanks for your help. Let me answer questions one by one:

First, I meant that I was slow against other Minis. In the other classes I raced I did not see this differences in top speed (GT Pro Spec, Eurotruck and FWD)

Second, I was using the following:

- Battery: Gens Ace 6000mAh 2S1P 70C full size with Dean connectors (very heavy battery @304g), one year old
- ESC: Hobbywing Justock XR10 (green light was on on full throttle, seems it is properly calibrated)
- Car weight was around 1380g (heavy for the class)
- Bearings: Fast Eddy non sealed, used one race. Non lubricated
- Motor: brand new Reedy 21.5 FT

Differential: TA-03, tight

Regarding turn exit speed, i understand it can be a reason, but the car was toping out max speed at mid straight. Even though the car was heavy, acceleration was comparable to that of other cars. Really did not have this problem in any the other classes (Including GT Pro Spec, that uses the same motor in TCS with controlled FDR)

Last year I had issues with the sensor cable of the ESC, but I checked it and seems fine. Is there any way to check if this is the issue?

Finally, the only reason I talk about changing FDR is because three different people came to me saying that I had to reduce the size of the spur, and encouraged me to do my research on how to do so, stating that the rules only fixed 20t for the pinion, not saying anything about the spur. I disagree with this statement by the way (TCS rules say that internal gears cannot be modified)

The main sin of the car is that it is heavy. For next race, I'll shorten cables, use short battery and change screws to titanium. That should allow me to hit the min weight...but that should help with acceleration and not with top speed.

This is still a mistery to me

Again, thanks for your help

There are a few reasons right there for the rude awakening. I'll let the others finish it, as I'll get crapped upon again. Haha

Tamiya M08's have started shipping.

What is the status of the car for TCS? (gearing? anything else?)

Seems good to me. 80g is.. a lot. But it shouldn't really alter top speed. ESC cables are cheap, swapping one out, is a good plan.

You can use a DMM to check the wires, but it's multistrand and such, so you can't really trust results once you move the wire at all. $8 for 3 cables on amazon.

now... this is bugging me. If people are talking abuot changing FDR. (change the size of the spur) well... there are high speed gears available for the M05/06 chassis.

for M05, Fast Gear Set ,(M05-02) by 3Racing

3racing also sells a differential that's a tooth smaller, providing an even greater speed boost.

It sounds to me, like ~they~ are running non-tcs gears, if they're suggesting that the change is possible. I strongly suspect that this is the case.

The main sin of the car is that it is heavy. For next race, I'll shorten cables, use short battery and change screws to titanium. That should allow me to hit the min weight...but that should help with acceleration and not with top speed.
With a TBLE-02, and a 4000mah battery, I was 20g under-weight. How you're 80g over is...a bit of a mystery to me.

And if someone is looking for a GT2 car, I have a couple I'd like to get rid of.

This a quote from the rules. But, I would call or email Tamiya,
  1. Legal chassis platforms: M05, M05 V2, M06, and M-07 platforms only.

Can someone post the link to the 2019 TCS finals rules. I deleted that email by accident. Also, is the M08 Legal for the Finals?
