Will there be any change to the allowed bodies for GT-Pro Spec?

At this time there is no body that screams inclusion into the GT Pro spec class. We will leave it alone with the Porsche and Mercedes body only.

If Tamiya were modifying motor rules for profit they would private label a motor and mark it up as a requirement for TCS participants.

Really there's no reason to slow them down.

Since it is a relatively popular class in TCS and most everyone at Tamiya Saturdays has one to wheel around (I have no clue if it's a popular seller globally or in the USA though) the way to battle that is with different rules. For example 17.5 and 21.5 classes (can of worms, yes) fixed timing or open. Or 21.5 open timing spec motor and 21.5 fixed timing spec motor.

Of course folks will always claim that the motor wizards may always have an advantage in either class but leveling the racing field is what Fred is trying to do. I don't have enough talent to run with the top guys so it does not matter in my case but it sure is fun to watch them all battle it out for top 3 spots within 0.8s of each other!!!
Brett,
speaking of running with the Big Boys in Mini, you should did a great job in finishing 4th in the A main. You smoked several regular Mini Big Boys last weekend at Tamiya!
Steve.

Any idea when the Rules package will be posted on the Tamiya Web site to make it official?

Hello guys and gals,

The 2018 TCS rules are now posted on our website. Please click the PDF link found on the page. It is the most current rule set. The icons and links on the site are no longer up to date. We are working on something new. Right now it's just easier to make the current rules downloadable with a PDF.

https://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs/rules.php#.Wjq68t-nG72

Anyway, as I have said repeatedly, not much has changed from 2017. My goal has always been to keep things as consistent as possible, while adapting to market conditions and trends.

With that said, read the rules and highlighted tweaks. If you have questions, please ask on this thread.

Pro spec Rule:
12. Motor Timing: 50 Degrees maximum motor timing. (Physical mark on motor can)

Was that in last year's rules? Doesn't matter but that clears up a question I had for this class. Thanks!

Yes. It's the same rule as the 2017 rule.

Welp, guess I gotta work on my Mini setup....
Also hearing rumors we may have a handout at finals??? Just curious, haven't been to the track on a regular basis to hear all the murmurs.

The M07 manual shows a mounting platform above the battery but doesn't specify what it's for...

Default GT1 - GT2 Tires

There seems to be a conflict between the tire matrix and rule 42. For instance I believe 180 is a carpet track so rule 42 dictates Tamiya C-Type's, but the matrix indicates Gravity tires.
