FWD (FF03/FF04) Class with ROAR approved 21.5 sounds fun this year.. just like last year.. and the year before. One set of tires actually last quite a while in FWD.

Lets keep it going.

I hope so - just ran FWD in TCS Omaha on carpet for the first time and had a blast - car was dialed.

The locals here don't usually bring them out till the day of Regionals and Nationals. But this year im giving it my full attention for both Regionals and Nats.

Last year FF-class at Nats was an interesting race.

Question...are we able to run parts/kits etc. in TCS that are not available in the US but are available overseas? Or do we have to wait until that item is available here in the US to use?

I think we know the answer. Also, how would the rules handle discontinued parts, say TA05 aluminum bulkheads? I also think we know the answer to that as well.

I was just curious...I think I know the answer but don't like to assume things. On the discontinued parts I can kind of see but I thought it was once a platform was no longer allowed that came into affect. Like when folks were using the SS arms from the TA04 on the 05 and running the MR-S body?Is it once its specifically addressed or implied? Btw I wish I could find the aluminum bulkheads for the OG 05 lol.

But I mean if we know it's going to be available or maybe hard to find in stock just yet. Can we go overseas or no? Seems like Fred addressed it at some point just can't find it.

Availability of parts in the USA can be an issue. Sometimes parts become discontinued in USA and are still available in Japan. The 2005 NSX body for example is still sold in Japan today, but was discontinued sometime ago in the USA. Part of the reason the body is no longer legal for TCS racing.

BTW - I have two sets of new in the package aluminum bulkheads for the OG TA05 (Tamiya part #84210). They are gold however. I can sell them, but they are not cheap though.

Typically we havent had much issue here in California with discontinued 'parts'... Bodies neither. If you have it and its Tamiya, you can run it. 417's and TA05's kits are discontinued, but im sure you can still run it if you wanted.

That being said there are a few bodies (even when they were still in production) that were deemed 'illegal' (previous NSX, EBBRO, Subaru Legacy) all for some reason or another. The only 'parts' that i know of that are illegal (for North America TCS) is the Brass Hub-Weights for the M06. Deemed so by Fred himself just the same as the bodies afore mentioned. My guess is that he didnt want to have people have to go out and buy an entire kit (M06 R) just so they can get those parts seeing as tho that was the only way to get them. (they are not sold separately) From what I understand they make a huge difference and it was apparent when I made the trip to J-land fr the Tamiya Worlds as all the fast guys were running them on their M05's.

basically, unless otherwise specified, run it if you got it.

They were running the brass weights in the rear of the 05 for grip? On low grip carpet?

Yessir.. either the Tamiya BrassWeights or some were just adding Lead directly to the rear arms

including the World Champ himself (M06 hub weights on M05 Ra hubs)
