Good thing I decided to buy the Reedy 25.5 before hand. I think going to a spec 25.5 is a good move in long run but I also support the notion to allow open manufacture 25.5 for the first round of Tcs regional to lessen the hit of some early adopters of other manufacture's 25.5s.

So far I don't see a appreciable difference in performance between all the manufactures in 25.5 wind and I think for a single regional race it should be okay.

Pretty busy schedule Mr. Madjack. Will keep a grid spot open for you in our future races. Still kinda odd to see you running a sedan but I am sure we will get used to it.

So, what happens when motors for Mini and F1 are not available from the manufacturer?

I have done a quick search for Reedy 253's and found out that most/all of the popular online retailers are currently out of stock. Reedy is also out of stock.

Will there be a contingency plan if product is not available a few weeks before said event?

Reedy 25.5's for F1 are available from Tower for $75 with coupon, and most other retailers. 21.5's are a little harder to obtain right now.

That is why I suggested giving everyone till finals to be up to spec and then leave the motor rule in place for a couple years after that.
I applaud Fred for finally specing a motor for Mini and F1 (although with flexible gearing not sure if F1 needed a spec motor just the change to 25.5 would have been a great choice as well).

Also a big thank you for bringing back the t-shirts.

For those of you wondering about the Reedy stock availability situation...I have been informed a new shipment arrived at their warehouse yesterday.

Considering doing a motor "lease" program for a few select TCS races that I will be attending. $15 for the weekend , with the understanding that if you burn it up you bought it. And yes, it will be very cool to have the tshirts again.

F1/25.5,

- Rather than "spec" a motor (Reedy) with uncertain availability and which may not end up on the "ROAR approved" list, why not allow "any 25.5 BL" motor until after ROAR finishes testing/approving 25.5s and the mfgrs get a reasonable number into the supply chain?

- Maybe "any 25.5 BL" for the regionals and then require "ROAR approved" 25.5s for the TCS Nationals.

- This would eliminate the necessity for folks buying a motor which would only be good for one car (F-1) in one series (TCS). Racers could use motors they already have for VTA or other 25.5 classes.
