Fred: Must the gear cover be used on the FF03?

Thanks for posting the rules!

I'll go on record and say the FF class will be an open gear-ratio class. No gear covers will be required for either the FF03 or the FF04. Have fun

1. The "personal tranponder information" portion of the driver's manual says that MRT transponders do not work at the Tamiya facility. And yes, the original "MRT PTX" model is not RC4 compatible. But the newer "MRT PTX (NS)" model, available for about two years now, is compatible with RC4 decoders. I ran an MRT last year and expect to run one this year unless there is some new issue with them (if so please advise).

The driver's manual steers people toward AMB Hybrid transponders, but given that the Tamiya track has an RC4 decoder, the cheaper AMB RC4 (3 wire) transponders will work. As will the AMBrc and the MRT PTX (NS) transponders.

2. The "M-Chassis class handout motor and pinion gear" section says that a pinion gear will be provided with the motor. The manual should specify how many teeth this pinion gear will have, so racers can ensure that the correct set of motor mounting screw holes is available (and not covered by ballast, a transponder, or whatever).
I do not and will not condone the use of a cloned product. Use MRT transponders at your own risk. M-Chassis racers should make sure their cars are able to accommodate a 20 tooth pinion.

The manual mentioned "see Track Facility MAP", is that available somewhere? Or will be posted that weekend?
Thanks,

Default TCS at Jackson hosted by Brownie's Hobbies

What a great day! 40 entries in Mini! 86 entries in total. Many new racers and first time winners!
Thanks to Al Sodano for the use of his amazing facility. Greg Sharp and Alex Valdez for there award winning announcing.
To my crew I would like to say I couldn't do these TCS races without you.
To all the racers who traveled from far and wide, thanks for making the trip. If not for your participation, these races would not be possible.

This is the 4th TCS race I've attended with my sons, Andrew (7) and Michael (6) and we all have a great time. Fantastic event and to have 40 entires in Mini and both an A & B Main for Novice was fantastic. Great to see so many new young faces at the track.

Hello Fred,

I was not able to participate this year in TCS but hope to next year. Have had lot's of fun at the Fredtech and Reedy races though

Have you considered adding a 2nd starting grid onto the straight that is double spaced for us mere mortals? Perhaps painted in TRF blue? I think saving the close packed white grid for Reedy invite would be great and then having a 2nd 'blue' grid for us regular folk will enhance racing in the mains (reduce the hairpin pile ups) and put more meaning into qualifying well. Hope that this is something you might consider for the 2016 race season.
Thanks Boss!
