I haven't kept up to date much, but I hear some Gt1,2,3 bodies are new excluded because they are old ? that's uhm part of the hobby, running your old stuff for fun, and yet be competitive, all the while enjoying the hobbyist part of running old school paint schemes and such..

what bodies are excluded for sure, or is this a local TCS site decision ?

The bodies are being excluded because literally everyone would run one, because that's what you needed to run to be competitive. For a few of the years in the past it has been NSX cup. All NSX's that are 2007 and older are discontinued for this reason, and I believe the ebbro is also. Correct me if I'm wrong

I think a more structured rule about what should be banned should be devised. Maybe we should just outlaw bodies after the 3rd year that it's been discontinued or out of the market or something. This will make things more fair and interesting and maintain Tamiya body sales as well.

Hear your frustration & I share it with you.........It's just the nature of the beast Casey.

Hobbies are expensive especially RC & the way that it evolves.

Personally I am always changing my fleet to keep in budget

Always keep the Mini

Default Ride Height

And on another note . . . . .

Where are the minimum ride heights for each class listed in the rules?

Ride heights are track specific. If a carpet track says minimum 6mm for all classes, it's 6mm because they want to protect their carpet. If you want to run 2mm outside and scrape the crap out of your chassis, go right ahead.

I still don't buy that point of contention. NSX bodies have been easy to find for many years.

http://www.hobbycart.com/tamiya-tm-51245.html

I have ordered many NSX bodies from this site over the past 2-3 years. Each and every order was delivered to me in just over a week. Not sure how they can be hard to find...

The only thing the rule change is going to do is change the GT classes from the NSX cup to [insert body here] Cup. Whichever body wins the first race will be what is being run by the majority of cars at the next race.

Wasn't aware TCS was a over-the-counter only series. Guess we are also banning the hard-to-find M03, TB03, F104, etc...

You do make a good point
However
I'm pretty sure the series is there to promote Tamiya USA , not to enhance gray market sales

I am a purist when it comes to TCS racing, so anything benefiting the series is always welcome with me. I just can't grasp why restricting a body after it has been allowed for so many years is benefiting the series. Yes, the NSX bodies were more difficult to find than other bodies. I have also seen people moving on from the NSX in recent years. Last years race at Jackson, Austin could have mounted a shoe box and still drove away with it. If not for 2nd and 3rd tangling up late in the race, the fastest NSX was in 4th.

Yes, I'm bitter because I have 3 NSX bodies I have used the past two TCS seasons in GT1&2, still in great shape. Now, I need to abandon those and go buy new ones to run one TCS race this season? Just doesn't make sense to me.

The point of the whole thing is promoting Tamiya Usa and the products they currently sell. Unfortunately Japanese and HK shops are not making Tamiya Usa any money. Bodies Tamiya stopped making 3 years ago don't help the 2015 bottom line.

Its a free race series that will probably hand you a door prize at the least. You are gonna have to buy something to race like tires or some other consumable. This is sort of the price of admission
