Was watching on UStream but the camera man zoomed in on the leader instead of where the battle right behind... was catching up quick at the end there

No good results to share from the F1 class for me.
Great car, great motor, no good runs.
Had moments in each heat that showed promise but just couldnt get from start to finish without some sort of incident.
Touched walls, touched cars, got touched by cars...some resulted in lost time and some resulted in broken parts.
Pretty disappointing considering I had 5 practice runs albeit only 3 minutes each, 4 qualifiers also 3 minutes each and a main and still couldnt put a run in clean start to finish.

Had the time of my life though and cant express in words the gratitude to ALL of my friends and family that supported me and the entire Tamiya crew from USA and Japan that did an amazing job hosting us on this trip!
Thank you!!!!!

Got off fairly clean in the main. The car was great, no complaints. I made a few bobbles, but not really anything notable, besides a fight with the 1 car. I don't know if the incident was clean or not, I tapped his rear end after he went wide and I cut the corner tighter. Finished as it was right there. 3rd place.

Skip to 3:30 for the race
I started off fairly well, in fifth place. As the first laps went on, I stuck behind the 2 car, who was off pace and had a bad start. Battling with him lost me a good second and a half, but I eventually made a pass on him off the straightaway. It was very close the cars were both touching but I managed to make it stick. The cars in 3rd and 2nd both made mistakes as I got up on them, but the 3 car maintained position and popped up right behind me. I managed to bridge the 2 second gap to first and the 3 car gapped to me. We went about a lap like this, all very close but I ended up screwing up. The 3 car ended with a 2nd place finish, but by letting him by I essentially boned the 1 car, as i gave the three car a tie in points, leading to car no. 3 to win the event. I also could've won the event, if I had not crashed, but it is what it is. No regrets. We had so much fun in Japan. The locals were very courteous with their driving and very nice in person also. We met some great people, had some fun talking to them. The driving was exciting and tight, albeit a little slow. Overall, definitely a great experience. Hope to come back to Japan soon.

Great driving Julian and congrats on the podium finish. Too bad they shot you down on using that beautiful Ebbro without ifs setup. Congrats to Ed for always providing great car setup. I think I need to contract you to be my pit chief next year . Still dreaming

I will post videos of Julian's and Nathan's mains as soon as we return to the states and catch up on sleep. Nathan qualified 5th, had a rough main one and overall finished 8th. We have Pivotheads video of both of Nathan's races and gopro of total track for both Nathan's and Julian's mains. I'll pot them on YouTube and leave a link here.

Questions?? TCS Rules ??

I hate to be the first to ask, but do we have an Idea what the 2015 rules are?

Fred, will mini be 21.5 motors roar approved again??

I guess that is my big question, because all the sales are now. I do not want to make an $80-$90 investment on a possibility.

Thank you

what inserts are you carpet guys using with the C tires? track is med-med/high grip (horsham RC, if that helps any)... i know the rules say 'any inserts', but i'd rather not buy a ton just to find ones that work

I hope they keep the 21.5 motor for mini. The class is finally fun and many of the die hard mini racers have already invested in 21.5. Doesn't seem right to switch to a "spec" motor for the purpose of slowing the cars down.

If Tamiya wants a spec motor for TCS nationals that's one thing and make it a handout motor. For local TCS regional events, please keep it as is. The cars are so much fun to drive with some HP and the elimination of the silver can voodoo.

I agree 100%. Now we just need to get a confirmation on this from Fred.
