I know the top three during main is tb03. And i think Max is running ta05 and Mark is running tb04.

Mr. Hinkley was running the TA05v2 and shelved the TB04 based on the drivetrain sounded somewere like a garbbage disposal and a cement mixer?
he was substancially quicker with the TA05 in the warm conditions.
appears that the TB03r is till the car to have in GT2?
I still have mine and it is easy to drive and keeps rolling thru the corners!
I believe it has a clear advantage in regards to cornering speed.

Are there anywhere picture from the winner Cars?

What about the ta06?

Is there a differential between Outdoor or indoor (carpet), i mean between the chassies.

I have gathered the A-main stats for the 4 trip winning classes. From the stats you can see what the 2014 A-Main finalists were using and what the popular gear was in use.

Any insight as to the probability of the 1/12 class returning in '15?

I don't see why it wouldn't return. It's a fun class

Actually I ran a TA05 V2 for most of the weekend until right before the mains when I peiced togrther a TB03 from old parts and the TA05 I was running. I BARELY finished putting it together right before the first main and although it wasn't setup correctly I can say definitively for those wondering that the TB03 is the better car. Why did I do this? Cause I got smoked by the two guys in front of me both running TB03s and if you can't beat 'em, join 'em..... Testing for next year. It was fun to see the differences in a race setting!

The Tamiya plastic tub cars in order of raw top speed and handling are listed below:

TB-03: Fastest top speed/worse handling
TA-05 V2: Second to fastest in top speed/medium handling
TA-06: Slowest in top speed/Best handling

TB-04: To be determined (I'll have to ask the designers where this new car fits in the matrix abvobe)

Before the TB-04 came out the designers of the cars above pointed out each platforms strengths and weaknesses. Having tested and driven all platforms on the Tamiya track the designers pretty much know what they are talking about. they designed all the cars.

The TA-06 is by far the best tub Tamiya car I have driven on the Tamiya track. Izzy showed it can be competitive as he put one in the A-main. At the 2013 Tamiya World Championships the guy that TQ'd did so with a TA-06 and it was the class of the field until the mains got a little tight.

I think you see a lot of TA-05V2's is due to the best of both worlds. I think the track layout and grip conditions also play into what may be the best for the day.

It will be interesting to see what is popular at the Tamiya World event this year.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

What are the problems with the tb04? And why is the ta06 the car with the lowest Top Speed?

I ask, because i want to start racing the gt2 class hear in Germany.

I am surprised to see there wasn't a single TRF101 car in the F1 A-main....

The TB04 hasn't been raced all that much yet, hence why it wasnt added in FMW's matrix.

The TA06 has the slowest top speed because it has a higher drivetain power loss because of the rear gearbox coupled with the belt-drive to the front. Every rotating-connecting point from the motor pinion all the way to the wheels creates a power loss.

It was pretty much t bar domination. Cuda's car was the class of the field (an original F104 with the optional tube damper).

I'm sure that the 101 can be competitive, but I think a lot of the guys have so much time on the other models, it will be a while until we see a dialed in 101.
