Sorry to hear that Orlando. Btw I'm the one that spoke with you at TQ about using the same body after you won.

Totaly agree, I don't mind the motor rules etc etc. At least I am getting a good product. But spending money for something I can't use is another thing. Good luck with your future purchase..no more bad tires please!

Default TCS at Jackson on July 27th 2014

ATTENTION!!!

All M-chassis racers. If you we're lucky enough to get the new M05 Ver 2 you WILL be able to run it at our July 27th race but will be restricted to a maximum of 50c batteries. I spoke with Fred at Tamiya and to keep the field even he agreed with this restriction.

Why the call for only 50c batt's? Is the advantage that great with the M05v2?
Just curious.

This is very disappointing. I hope this not true. Why would you change rules mid season.

Sorry for the previous rant. I understand Tamiya needs to keep it fair. I am one of the lucky people to snag an M05v2. The draw of the car was the ability to use square batteries. To add to that, the ability to use SHORT square batteries, which I do already own from other racing. However, even those are at 65c or higher. I did just do a google search and am extremely hard pressed to find anything under 50c in terms of a short lipo pack.

That is all I have to say.

When doing a google search, it is hard to find a low C rated 2s short pack. The draw of the M05v2 is being able to run short square lipos.
Nothing is ever right about changing rules 3 weeks before a race. Stuff like this has me considering quitting rc racing.

hey yeah. I just looked. by using a 50c rating battery limit, you have utterly removed all current shorty packs. Isn't that part of what is good about the new car?
Can someone provide a a link to a shorty pack with a 50c or less rating. Thanks in advance.
I'm not liking the sudden rule change as much now.

SMC sells 4300 mah 50C packs - good price, too...

Meanwhile, I'll show up on the 27th with my clapped-out, old school M05 and have some fun anyway...

This is perfect. Thank you Barry.

Does anyone else know of any other short batteries under a 50c rating, just in case SMC has a sudden run on these?

Fred and John,
Is the 50c rating official and set in stone? I just need to know if I need to buy more batteries........
