It's about time ...
However it should have been stated when the 2013 rules were published ...

Ummm...no.

1.Unfortunately, the new batch did not come out until after the season had started.
2. No one at the TCS Regional races ever complained about the performance difference and or they didn't notice it. To add to that...those who discovered the difference at the Tamiya track kept their mouths shut for whatever reason. Think about that one.

Now that the cat is out of the bag what we've done to keep it fair, with no cost to the competitors, is the best solution given the silence and situation.

Gents,

All your questions regarding times and schedules can be found on the TCS website. Click the link that says "Drivers Manual". I have also attached it here and those who have signed up should have received an email copy. The one on the website and here is the most up to date. I have also attached the practice schedule.

Hello everyone,

Everyone who has registered for the event should have received an email regarding the B3 tire issue as it affects GT-1 and GT-2. I am posting it here as some of you have reported not having received the email.

Just and FYI to any of the Past Champions thinking about GT-1 this year...

GT-1 past champion and new champion eligibility rules and prize details:

Former champions may ONLY compete in the GT-1 class and/or 1/12th GT. You will be competing against current TCS racers who have never won the grand prize.

Former champions must compete in a 2012/2013 TCS regional race (in the GT-1 class) to be eligible to qualify for the 2013 TCS finals. Any non-champion may enter the GT-1 class as long as they have qualified in any GT class in the 2012/2013 season.

I have attached the latest driver entry list. Please look it over. If we don't have your PT# please PM me and I will add it to the system. Do not assume I have it in my database.

We will have concourse this year. We will never drop that from the program. We just usually hold it right after the drivers meeting and group photo.

Regarding over charging.

Here's the deal folks. I know everyone looks forward to the TCS Finals. TCS in general is a planned, fun series with a rule set that is always evolving to keep things as fair as possible. If most remember, I was one of the first to implement a battery voltage maximum reading in organized electric racing. 8.44 is the safest voltage that I have been advised to use by the former ROAR battery tester long before ROAR used his expertise. I am keeping it to 8.44. There is no reason why anyone should show up to tech with anything higher. If you do you will have to take your car back into the pits and discharge your battery until you're compliant. You will not be allowed to discharge in tech. You will have to go to the back of the line to go back throw tech. If you're over it's up to you to make it back throw tech in time for your heat race. Charlie and I will not wait for you.

That is all I have to say on the subject. It's a closed.

Great judgement call Fred! I know this hurts me some because I bough a few sets prior to the race but you can't solve all the issues and this is indeed the best way to go about it at no added cost to me.

I just found out about the old tire advantage last week. Either way, the fast guys on old batch tires will stay the fast guys on new batch tires.

Good luck to everyone
