I would actually say you were one of the smart ones to sit out the race. I had small water droplets forming on the inside of the body when it ended. I would consider us lucky nothing fried. Now I'm looking at a complete rebuild of the car just to clean all the crystallized sugar off.

Should I do it again? No. Will I do it again? Absolutely!

TCS 187 in two weeks.

As you know ,with many years of TCS racing ,many tracks come and go. It's time for another one to go. TCS 186 will be the last at the "Coliseum" in Frederick ,Md. They are relocating and are discontinuing the indoor track . The last race will be one to remember .

If you don't already know this is an indoor baby smooth, fine grade, high traction asphalt track , it's truly "one of a kind "

Hope you can make it for the last TCS race at the "C" !!!

I know a few people took some action shots at the Jackson TCS race. Care to share?

Race #185 Results? Did anyone show, was this race rained out? Seems like there was not much interest in this race.

I believe there were 90+ entries... Mains were cut short by rain. I'm sure the race organizers will post a race summary once they get an opportunity to do so.

Sorry for the delay on the results for the past couple events. I hope to get them posted on the TCS website soon.

I've heard about a couple issues drivers are having. First, the rear wing of the Mazda 787 body for the RM-01. Tamiya has made a very accurate example of the car but the rear wing does flop around quite a lot and can also be torn off easily. I have been asked if it would be ok to brace the wing using clear polycarbonate (lexan) on the outer plains of the wing. Normally this is not allowed by the letter of the rules but I'm going to make an exception as long as there isn't any "aero" advantage created. The side plates must be clear and only enough material to stabilize the wing. I feel the cost of a simple racing incident to destroy the body because the wing was torn off justifies allowing this reinforcement to the Mazda 787 body. It would also be good to see more variety with the bodies used in the 1/12th class.

Also regarding wings, the Ferrari F2012 body has caused issues to some drivers in that it tends to bend easily due to it's thin construction causing it to drag on the track surface. The result is an under-steering car and a frustrated driver. There for, as long as the "aero" characteristics of the wing is not manipulated in any way, the wing can be braced from the underside only (must not be visible from a top down perspective), using material such as Polycarbonate, shoe goo etc. This is only allowed on the Ferrari F2012 front wing. Mixing bodies with different wings is still not allowed.

I hope this will help minimize the cost and improve your enjoyment with the cars and the series.

David

Default TCS 2013 Finals!!!

Ok, TCS Drivers, the entries for the 2013 TCS Finals is now live! You must pre-register, there will be no entry day of the event.

We have some really nice prizes to award in addition the trip to Japan. Who will be the talented 4 drivers going to the World Championships?

Any predictions???

I signed up for F1 only last night but might try to get an RM01 so I can race it as a second class. Can I go back in and add the 2nd class through the on-line registration?
