Is there a TCS legal spool that can used on a ta05 v2 out there and how about an aluminum center shaft for center pulleys and spur? And if so, please provide a part numbers if possible. Thanks! I ran diff up front for the past two years and would like to run a spool and aluminum center shaft this time.

Look here:

Tamiya USA TA05 V2

That has all of the hopups available for the TA05 V2 from Tamiya.

However, in 2012, the mini class was one of the smaller attended classes. Seems many of the Tamiya regular mini crowd did not want to try to make the switch to carpet. Hopefully a few more will be brave enough to try mini's on carpet this year.

Thanks Redbull and Kevin. It looks like I will be able to make it, so you got at least one Mini. Does anyone know what the Mini guys were doing for tires?

It is a little early for this announcement, but since you asked.

Effective April 1:
TCS racers from the country formerly known as Canada, will be permitted to enroll and granted a Tamiya driver’s license by selecting one of one of the following state options:
  • Nord Maine (Québécois)
  • North Montana

Stand by for further announcements pending State Department approval.

Don't know if there is a compatible spool for the TA05 V2, but there is a hop-up option for ball diffs that turns it into a spool with the added benefit of having some give in the event of a crash. Check out the 3x3mm bushings for ball differential, part number 54424. The discription on the Tamiya website says they can be used with ball diffs that use 3mm balls. No specific chassis is mentioned. However, the packaging states, "usable with: TA05-VDF, TB-03 VDS, and TB-03D". I would think you could use them on your car but would suggest getting confirmation from Tamiya to eliminate any doubt. In regards to the aluminum center shaft, sorry, I have no suggestions.

At this time, it's uncertain if we can allow Canadians to participate in the Finals due to liability reasons. Previously, the Canadian Tamiya agent escorted the winners from the Canadian series to the finals. This does not appear possible from this point forward. I hope to have a decision in the next week or so.

Regarding question 2, yes, drivers can run GT-1 and GT-2 with the same chassis running a 17.5 as long as the motor is on the TCS approved list and the chassis is a current Tub chassis (No Carbon double deck chassis types in GT-2).

Hello TCS drivers. The Reedy Sonic 13.5, 17.5 and 21.5 motors have been revised with what is called the Mach 2 versions. The rotors and stators are the same, the difference is the bearing sizes, the vent holes are now a bit smaller and the rear timing cap is aluminum instead of plastic. The previous versions are discontinued and out of stock but still legal and approved for TCS use. Performance is the same, life span is better so the revised versions have been approved and added to the TCS motor list.

I just have a couple of qustions about a motor/tire's. I have the Monster horsepower locked 17.5 motor that I would like to run in GT-2 with my TT-01. I would like to know if that motor is legal? I didn't see it in the rule section. Also can I run sliks with the TT-01 in the GT-2 class or no?

Thanks for the reply

Edit:
Is the Hobbywing Xerun 90A legal this year? Since the 60A version is discontinued.

It's there(the spool), here is the exact part: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=53877 , & it IS legal(I've been using it since I built my TA05v.2 a few years ago). Only thing about it is that that spool comes with a 36 tooth pulley, & for the v.2 you'll need a 27 tooth one(which you'll find here: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=54023 ). But about a top shaft, I dunno, always made use of the stock one myself....
