Just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to Eric and the crew at the Track at Harbor Hobbies for hosting another great TCS race. Had a blast. Can't wait to do it again next year.

Had a great time at TCS! Many thanks to Eric for helping Jace. Thanks again Larry for the rent a ride, it was fun running a touring car again. Shout out to Matt Miller for first medal with a podium in GT3! Racing a TT01 no less.

It wasn't me. My license arrived yesterday when I got back from TCS race 178 and I was #00003. Would have been nice to be #00001 or #00007.

The search for #00001 continues...

Thumbs up To shed a little light on the subject of the real #1

Thank you Tamiya for the opportunity to be apart of the TCS series heritage
As the First TCS Champion ever, in both F1 and 12th GT
It is quite an honor to recieve #0001 TCS Racing License

What's also kind of cool is that the F1 Main was the also first main of the First Nationals in 95'
So to be the very first TCS National Champ is kinda cool

People often ask why I still run Tamiya logos on all of my cars to this day
I've never even been sponsored by Tamiya
It's just my appreciation for all they do, and the Trip to Japan back in 95'

Tamiya Fan Boy, yeah, you betcha

Dave Jun:

Question on the licenses. Does being a past champion of any class now mean those people can only race GT1 at Nationals? That seems to be what the letter with the license says, but that was not the past practice.

For example, being a past champion of a non-Japan trip winning class means you can only race GT1. My personal example - Mini champ 2003 when it was not a japan class winning trip. I was always allowed to race any classes at Nats thereafter, as it was not a Japan trip class that year.

Worse example - a "past champion" of GT3, a novice class, and never (I believe) a Japan trip winning class, can now only race GT-1? Or a past "national champion" in Spec/Novice class is now only able to race GT1 at Nationals?

Or was your intent that Past Champions "of a Japan trip winning class" are now eligible for GT1 only.

Anyone use the Type-C tires and what inserts would you recommend.

Thank you.

I assume you are asking about carpet, which is what they are designed for. On high traction carpet, try the Tamiya Black inserts. The blue inserts are ok, but the black are better, less tire squeal, carry a bit more roll speed. If carpet is not well used and not very high traction surface (like newer carpet) , go with the blue inserts.

Hello David,
Anyone that finishes in 1st place in their class at the TCS Finals is a champion. Only the "trip winning" class winners are issued the red "Past Champion" licenses and are only allowed to race GT-1 at the finals.

In your case, there was an error during the processing of your license. Mini was not a trip winning class the year you won so you are still able to race all classes (except Spec Novice & GT-3) at the regionalís and finals. Your status is Advanced/Expert (your ID# will remain the same) and I will issue you a new license. Sorry for about the mistake.

Yes, I am going to use it on a carpet track. I was asking because most of the guys that I see practicing are using B3's. I'll try a set with the black Tamiya inserts first. Our carpet track is about 3 years old and it's got high traction.

Thanks for the info and for replying back to the question.

Thanks David for the prompt response. Don't mind the "downgraded" license! Have mini, will travel and have fun in California!

Default Help with The F1 rules

David J. or whomever can help please tell me if a narrowed 104WGP is legal to run in the rubber tire class for TCS. The rules are a little vague and I need clarification as my car has been questioned several times. Its the 104WGP that I installed the typical 104 front and run the 104 wheels and tires.

Thanks in advance.
