Does anyone want to rent a super dialed M03 for the weekend?

No. How about a setup sheet? My car is usually good, but I'm always looking to see what others have done.

True. Driving might have a little to do with it, but only a little.

I've always been fascinated by other people's setups and how two race winners, under the same conditions, can have completely different setups. EG: General wisdom around here is hard tires/springs on the front and soft tires/springs on the rear. (for an M-03) I've seen the exact opposite win and my own setup is based on a VERY fast M-05, with S grips, 55wt and short hard blue springs on all 4 corners. The only commonality among our faster guys right now is very stiff or completely locked diffs. The M-06 setups get totally weird.

I just love the perspective provided by others.

Really? Come on now! Read rule 34 on the TCS updated rules sheet:

All racers must buy, build their own cars and offer proof of "purchase and decree of self assembly and set up" at tech at the request of the tech official.

Noted about your 1/12 removal. You should have Mr. Wang build you a car. I heard he has the skill set you are looking for.

Updated entry list:
Whoa, for the record, I would just like to clarify that I know a mechanic that have the skill set that he might be looking for.....

On my way. Look forward to racing on Tamiya's track. Haven't raced there since 2007. Time sure goes by quick.

Default Tekin "big event" settings for TCS

A public service announcement/reminder for those racing with a Tekin RS series ESC....

Two non-timing settings are available on the ESC. Only one is allowed.

1) "ClubSpec" Spec Mode indicated by led's 3 and 5 flashing. Same as version 212 and selectable on the ESC.

2) Big Event "LockOut" Spec Mode, locks the ESC into Spec Mode and cannot be changed without plugging back into a HotWire. Factory Reset does NOT turn LockOut mode off. LockOut Spec mode indicated by led's 3, 4 and 5 flashing.

As per the TCS rules, the ESC must be set to "LockOut" mode available in firmware version 8.4.1 AKA vegas 223. Selectable in the Hotwire app check box "LockOut".

Yes. What he said. I hope all of you with a TEKIN are putting your speedo in Big Race Lock out mode. If you come through tech and it's not in there, you won't hit the track. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I'm willing to bet that at least one of you will show up to tech with the wrong Tekin profile. I have money on it.

All the track hours are listed on the drivers manual. Please refer to the manual. 98% of your questions are covered in the manual. I have attached it and all of you should have received a copy via email.

In short...8:00 to 4:00 tomorrow and Friday. Tables and chairs will begin to arrive Thursday rather than the previously announced Friday date. They will arrive between 8:30 and 9:00. It will take us a hour or so to get the main pit area set up for everyone. Power will be available on Friday around 10:00 a.m.

Peace

1)Is there any way when calling the races to say the car driver names instead of just the numbers. Viewing on live RC last year it was nearly impossible to know who was #2, #5, #8, etc. . . in each heat. Plus the video resolution is not that great to even read the car numbers. Then when the videos go viral, it will be easy to know names and performance in that heat.

2) Is it possible to do a pdf post of qualifying Sat night just to see who is doing what for sunday?

Not sure how much I will be able to watch but do have an interest in TCSN friends performances.

Good luck to everyone who can or thinks they can Git-R-Done @ TCSN!

The challenge within the challenge....

Looks like the US Mail system might have failed. They lost a rather important order of Tamiya stuff for the race.

That said - looking for a 417X chassis. Anyone have one that they would like to sell? Preference that you might be coming to the race of course. Will need it tomorrow.

Here are some images of the facility. People are practicing and hopefully having a good time. It's muggy outside!
