Wow, good thing I came to the track today and learned about the NEW F1 rules just before our upcoming TCS event.

From past experience, there is no way my F104 will be able to match the wide cars pace. Looks like the $$ invested to run the F104 again this year to defend last years title is wasted. So much for consistent rules.

If your interested in a race winning F104 PRO setup for the upcoming TCS event at Harbor Hobbies, just ask for Jimmy. I'm done with it.

From FMW
Hello everyone. Panda asked a very good question, which I will share my answer with everyone as I know most of you will have similar questions in regards to the F-1 class and the foam races coming up.

Hello Kevin,

Yes, http://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs/tcs.php?article-id=528 In the F-1 FOAM class you may use the F104W or F104WGP. If you donít have either one of those it is legal to convert your standard F104 or F104X and slap the F103 front end and mount the appropriate F103 FOAM tires or even F104 FOAM tires and wheels. (Itís not allowed to mix and match F103 and F104 wheels/tires)
Standard F104 180mm cars will be racing against 200mm F-1 cars. We are only allowing this in the FOAM class. People who are racing F104Wís or F104WGPís must use retro bodies. Itís not legal to run a Ferrari F60, MCLAREN MP4-24 or F104 Pro body on a F104W or F104WGP. (Just in case anyone wondered)
In turn, it is also legal to take a F104WGP kit and slap a F104 front end and run the car in either the FOAM class on carpet tracks or run the car in the rubber class outdoors. (Just in case anyone wondered)

Hope this answers your question =)

What do the F1 racers attending the Winthrop Harbor race think about a gentleman's agreement to only run narrow cars?

What happens if a racer shows up with a 104W? Are they not allowed to race with the gentlemen? I realize people are upset with the rule changes, but you must look at the big picture here. I can change my car back to narrow, I don't have a problem with that, but then again, I'm not the only participant racing F1. Are you making this suggestion to please a select few, or the entire field?

I was just suggesting this because I have had multiple people locally tell me they will not race or they are upset as they didn't know the wide cars are legal to run with the narrow stuff.

The majority of locals only have narrow cars. Personally, I don't care either way, since I am ready for anything

Just trying to allow the biggest group to race and enjoy TCS. If this was a bad suggestion or is a problem I apologize.

Default ESC's

Gentleman,

Make sure your ESC's are on the approved list for your respective classes. Tekin's, unfortunatley are not allowed in GT2. Orion's are not allowed in any class's.
