I don't know about sounds of brushless, but I provided the most lexan sound on Saturday

Default Race 170

Almost forgot, and thanks to Erik for asking.

House Rules for ride height.

Foam tire classes run here at 3mm minimum ( 3.5 suggested) and rubber tire classes run at 5mm (5.5 suggested).

Nothing more disheartening when an F1 drops the front screw and peels back a section of rug

Cool Tamiya track! News!!!!!

hey Steve,
Was good to see you at the Tamiya track, your 417X looked good out there, you schooled most of us that day. Hope to see you for the Speedtech race!
Traction was low Sat. but it didn't seem to upset the handling of your car!
Most of us are trying the new layout for the first time, much more technical layout, 13.5 vs 17.5 was very close in the infield. Lets see if Albert and Jeff likes the new layout.Maybe they will leave it as is.
I'm now wondering if the rules for this race are going to be the same format? All I heard was mini was going to combine brushed and brushless together!
Albert, how about posting the rules to give us time to get our cars ready?
Last but not least, rumor has it that possibly another race may be in the forcast at Tamiya!
Awesome!!!! if it's true!
Just my 2$

Hey Fred and the TCS 'rules guys' - will the Novak GTB2 w/X-Drive be legal for this season?? i didn't see the part numbers listed (1748 & 1749). according to everything in the USVTA thread, they are ROAR sportsman legal and how all the GTB2 will be coming out in the future - even warrenty replacements/re-manufacturered units

just looking for an idea before I get another GTB2

thanks!

The rules for the race will stay pretty much the same...but yes, the mini class will combine 17.5 and open silver cans. There were some, um...comments after the last race regarding the motors. We'll see how it plays out this time.

YES. We will of course allow those speedos in. The X-Drive units appear to be a running change and we don't see any issue with them.

Hello everyone. Panda asked a very good question, which I will share my answer with everyone as I know most of you will have similar questions in regards to the F-1 class and the foam races coming up.

Hello Kevin,

Yes, http://www.tamiyausa.com/tcs/tcs.php?article-id=528 In the F-1 FOAM class you may use the F104W or F104WGP. If you donít have either one of those it is legal to convert your standard F104 or F104X and slap the F103 front end and mount the appropriate F103 FOAM tires or even F104 FOAM tires and wheels. (Itís not allowed to mix and match F103 and F104 wheels/tires)
Standard F104 180mm cars will be racing against 200mm F-1 cars. We are only allowing this in the FOAM class. People who are racing F104Wís or F104WGPís must use retro bodies. Itís not legal to run a Ferrari F60, MCLAREN MP4-24 or F104 Pro body on a F104W or F104WGP. (Just in case anyone wondered)
In turn, it is also legal to take a F104WGP kit and slap a F104 front end and run the car in either the FOAM class on carpet tracks or run the car in the rubber class outdoors. (Just in case anyone wondered)

Hope this answers your question =)

As far as retro F1 bodies, are there specific retro bodies that are for the F104W or do F103 retro bodies fit the requirements?

Thanks Fred.

Hi Max,

Thanks for the kind word, hope I didn't leave too much rust on the track

It was nice to be out again at a nice track with old friends. I was very pleased with the new 417x and pretty much a trouble free day of running. Look forward to being out there again in a couple of weeks

Steve
