With 4, 5min runs, IFMAR starts? you dont have time to change settings or tire/insert combo's. At the Reedy the sessions turned into Qual races.
At least the tires were the same for all, taking them out of the equation.
The local racers can try all the diff tire/insert combos and track temp variants during the open Sat trac days. Will they share this info? Not likely.

Also a little late notice to racers/families that have already made vacation plans to spend the week.
Not being one of the fast guys (yet) the extra days helped in finding progress.
Equal it out in the 2 sedan classes with handout tire sets, 4 for qual and race, Tamiya tires seem to be in short supply anyway, but then what about F1 and Mini?

Just my $1000. worth. (race cost for me and my son inc travel from Seattle)

Fred... you forget you have Kevin M. on your side. he was the ONLY ONE to pull off a 16.5 in GT2. that laptime still stands today. this was in the afternoon heat too! (when the track was supposedly "slower")

OH, Kevin.
I can beat him, just stuff him when he laps me
I ran GT1 last year just to stay out of his way.
Just upset that I will miss out on all that trac time, no other place like it. It helps me a lot to drive that much, always faster when I get home.
Had a blast at the Reedy and just want more time there.
Wont miss it anyway, just trying to figure out what to do Mon-wed.

Fred,

I think the locals can be at a disadvantage. Sure they have practice, can probably drive the track backwards, on one foot, from the portapotties... Once the track is blown and sugarcoated the reality of their setups can change. Look at the list of past winners, not all have been SoCal.

Will they share setups... would you trustem if they did . Its part of the game and the reason why the outta-towners should stick together when laying the smack down.... I'm

M-W withdrawls well besides the obvious Disney and Legoland I have been dying to check out Petersons Antique Car Museum in LA.

Thumbs up BBB

They work great in the cool/damp early morning with a soft insert.. Great in the Warm part of the day with a firm insert..

Hey guys, don't forget the TCS race in Memphis on July 10-11. Yep, that's right TWO days of it!!! We practice and have a club race on Saturday where any club legal car can run, but the smart guys who are tuning for Sunday run TCS legal.

We also have a little cookout and get together after the racing Sat night. It's lots of fun and the race attendance has been over 100 the last few years.

It's pretty hot here in July so I'm gambling on the B3 being the tire to run. If not I have a set of B's from last year with one run on them...

BTW- I try to be a modest and fun-loving race director.... and I hate to sound like a jerk.... but I honestly don't think any non-sponsored TCS legal racer can come to MY house and whip me in GT1!!!!

Should have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express
Didn't mean to sound whinny, must of been the stress of watching Indy F1.

I grew up in LA, seen enough of that place. The only thing that brings me back is racing at Tamiya, oh and the tanned women, my son especialy likes that part, Laguna Beach after practice.!!!!

Thanks for the moral support, Chris. Jeff and O
