well trying times today, guess it least it wasnt 2mrw.

blew up 2 speedos today on the bench in the mini before even gettin out on the track. as i was packing up i wondered if it was my futaba radio that i had never used with this car (as little use as it had). was the only change from last i raced it this summer for fun. my gts lit all the right lights but no oomph to the motor. diff motor as that 1 was very old (4hole from a blackfoot). no dice.

so bought a new speedo (just a dyn tazer 12t unit). as soon as i plugged it in to the battery i saw smoke. dont think i even got the switch on (might have-not sure). ugh. tucked my tail and went home. good $ spent already, didnt even race.

well these counting new year's eve makes it 5 speedos this yr. ugh. at least these 2 were 2 cheap (relatively speaking) units for a car i only occasionally dabble with.

so i got home, stomped into my back shop and rummaged thru my vintage stuff and pulled out 4 brushed speedos. a futaba mc210cb, a tekin 411P2 (pots, not even quicktune haha), a beuk101, and a new buek from the 24 hours.

1st set them up on my old m8/spek system. work fine. the 2 from track were dead. set them up with 4pk and made sure to take them outta HRS. all 4 'booted' fine and ran motors.

so with all that said, i still plan to make my 1st TCS after all these yrs. she wont be the fairest 1 at the ball, but i hope she'll turn a few heads...

...and not because my innocent motor has pegged 17,501 revs.

the motor that did the last 8-9hrs of the jackson 24 is by rule illegal. black comm and all. thats nuts. buyin more motors to counter the chance of being labeled a cheater even if we all know the farce it is still sux.

For you mini guys out there, I have an unpainte 280 ZX body that I would like to sell. It is missing the lexan wing, but everything else is there. This is the body that came in the limited edition MO5 with the 280ZX body.

Let me know.

Just a note: we ran F104 rubber and F104 foam classes at the TSC Frederick racing this weekend and the rubber Class was more popular! It was great to run two F1 classes and no sedan.

Rubber on asphalt is much better, don't think the current f104 rubber tires work well on carpet. How many heats did you guys have?

Don't forget this weekend is TCS Race #162 at The Track at Harbor Hobbies. Gonna be a great weekend of racing. Hope to see all the regulars there.

When will the signup be active on the Tamiya website?

Casey put 11 heats through three rounds of qualifying with IFMAR starts and the mains. The qualifiers were sorted after two rounds of qualifying so the third heat was the "Rocket Round" that put the fast guys together.

So there was an intense battles not to just to be TQ, but an intense battle to make the cutoff for the tenth position in the A-main.

I was the 11th fastest for F104 rubber...arrrggghhh

The Registration is up for this coming weekend, but it doesn't list F1 Foam only F1 rubber. Hopefully this gets fixed in the meantime I registered under the F1 rubber class.

I'll have results posted by the end of day.

Race #161 was a great success!! Really tight battle for mini, 28 entries in the M0 class. F1 was a close second.

Stay tuned.
