Default 2007 New England Vegas Warm-up Race

Saturday, September 8

We have a number of drivers in the New England/New York area that are heading to the IIC in Vegas. RC Excitement will be hosting a warm-up event to help prepare drivers in the area for the big event. We invite all racers to attend to help kick off the fall/winter indoor carpet season.

The track will be open to practice all day Friday 12:00 noon - 9:00 pm.
The track will re-open Saturday 8:00 am, and racing will start at 12:00 noon.
Three rounds of qualifiers followed by the mains.

classes offered:
*1/12 Scale Stock
*1/12 Scale 19T
*1/12 Scale Modified
*Stock Sedan foam
*19T Sedan foam
*Modified Sedan foam

So that we aren't creating a chemical soup, the preferred traction sauce is Paragon Ground Effects (black can - purple text).

Where the track is not large enough to host the exact layout of the IIC, we have consulted with a number of experienced drivers to replicate the elements of the Vegas layout such that the practice will prove useful in transitioning to the big track. Our traction comes up nicely on regular club night racing, and will be great on race day. There are many top level drivers that race at our track on a regular basis to challenge for the show. Our carpet track has been active all summer with record turn-outs for club night racing.

Improvements have been completed for the start of the new season, and should lead to a more comfortable racing experience. Our scoring system (RC Scoring Pro) has been solid all summer, and allows use of personal transponders. We have replaced lights above the track and the walls have been recently painted a nice fresh coat of paint. We have also had the electrical system beefed up to curtail any blown circuit breakers. We added more pitting in the same room as the track, and the tire truing area has been re-worked.

There are many local delivery places for food, as well as many of the popular fast food restaurants within 1/2 mile on the same road. If you will be traveling and need a place to stay, there are a range of hotels in the area that have all ranges of prices/comforts.

Thanks Alex, it should be a good time. I can't wait for the fall to kick off carpet at RCM also. I just can't get there on Saturdays on a regular basis - at least for the summer.

Saaaweeeet Sauce! It looks like guys from speedzone, r/c madness, maximus and a couple guys from Vermont are planning to come down!

this means that we are going to have one of the single most competitive warm up races on the east coast. With potentially a couple surprise 'fly in' people, this could be one hell of a warm up!

Hooooo Yaaaa! Let the paragone rain down and the r/c gods smile upon us! Its time for Vegas baby!

I would like to thank people for attending this race this past Saturday. I am sure that for the people going to the IIC race this was a helpful session. I am sure that we will repay the visit in the near future. Our next race at RCE will be our 3rd Annual Halloween Howler on October 27th.
