Default IIC race 2019 attendance

Just wondering if lots of people plan to go and if not is there a reason?
I guess I though with only 120 pit spots it would have sold out super fast.

The last update I saw showed 80 drivers were signed up. One friend said he wasn't going because it WAS NOT being held at a hotel. He said it will be a glorified club race, since it will be at 702 Raceway.

makes sense I guess , I have never been to a club race with 120 people I think that will be fun in itself for me .

plus I think if the last 40 signed up from all over it would be a race full of people from all over but that's just me (hopelessly optimistic lol)

The one thing to take into consideration for this years race is logistics. A hotel race means you don't have to leave the property. With the race being at 702, everyone needs transportation to and from the track every day. Plus finding a hotel.
I road trip it each year, so transportation is not an issue for me.

we have not decided if flying or driving, most likely some will fly and some will drive then pick the flying ones up. its a 2300km (1430 miles) drive each way from Saskatchewan Canada. ill just be happy having a race weekend no matter how many show up lol

I have an 1700 mile drive (each way). The race give me a reason to take the road trip.

Having it in a hotel is sort of neat but it also has its problems. Since I drive to Vegas I have a different view than someone who flys in. Scotty put on a great show and will not let light attendance spoil the racing. I say more runs for the rest of us.

The latest count for entries is less than 190. Looks like we will get TONS of track time.

Its going to be fun! looking at each class and looking at last years race I am unsure how its considered smaller as its about the same amount of people per class and some classes have more unless I am looking at the wrong info?
2018 iic
entries 201 entries
drivers 101

13.5 12th 15 entries
17.5 12th 19 entries
mod 12th 12 entries

amateur touring 26 entries
stock touring 24 entries
17.5 touring 24 entries
mod touring 23 entries
usgt (spec gt) 24 entries
f1 14 entries
euro truck 14 entries

2018 was wgtr at 6 entries 2019 fwd at 7 entries

2019
as above stated under 190

13.5 12th currently 10
17.5 12th currently 9
mod 12th currently 6
(so 12th is less people this year so far)
amateur touring currently 32 (this is higher )
stock touring currently 26 (this is higher)
17.5 touring currently 14
mod touring currently 19 (darn close)
usgt (spec gt) currently 24 (so far a tie)
f1 currently 8
euro truck currently 8

to me this is a very similar size to last year

2017 and prior had significantly higher entries. 2018 was a bit of fluke due to scheduling too close to the Cleveland indoor nats.

For example:
2017 = 355 entries
2016 = 386 entries

Yes I understand how it was before but unless my memory is clouded I do not remember a bunch of people calling it light or bad mouthing it last year

What was there to complain about? Tons of practice rounds, double B-Mains and triple A-mains? I ended up running 10 mains last year.
