Default ROAR motor list

What in the Sam Hill is the hold up? I am aware that the administrator is very sick, and that it truly awful. Since that is the case, I'm sure his responsibilities have been passed on to someone who can...I don't know...do things?

Races and tracks all over the place have been ignoring the list because there is an acute shortage of motors, and hobby shops have customers that they need to satisfy. I just came from The Hudy where they didn't even bother with the list at all, and just measured resistance instead. I raced stock classes and witnessed no evidence of people taking advantage. My 100% ROAR legal cars were on par with even the very fastest cars.

Nobody is getting rich in this business. Motor companies are suffering terribly with the slow-as-molasses approval/list update process.

How long will it be before we are forced to move on from ROAR entirely? Is there any hope of things improving in the near term? Will everyone be forced to run old motors at Nats because the list is still not updated?

Its just taken a while to get all the equipment up and going at the new testing facility and get Howard up to speed on the process. He has been working on stuff for a couple months now and has it going the right direction but it still takes a lot of time to do the teardowns and inspections that are required by the rules. Its not something that can be done in a few minutes. Once they pass testing they must be verified with the manufacture of numbers brought into the US (There is a min number required) and sometimes the manufactures are slow to get this information to ROAR. Another thing is most manufactures dont bring in the motors until they pass ROAR inspections incase there is an issue. So then ROAR must wait on them to bring the motors in and submit prof of this before they are put on the final approved list. You would be surprised at how many manufactures send in motors for inspection but never send in the money for it. The motors dont get looked at until the fees are paid in full.

So just because a manufacture tells you they are waiting on ROAR dont always believe that. There are a lot of instances where its a manufacturer issue holding up the process.

EA, Understand your point, but Howard has approved (completed lab testing) of motors since then and still ROAR office has failed to publish an updated list

Thanks for the info! Also I saw that other thread too; seems like things are moving in the right direction.

did you read anything i Wrote? Just because he has done his part doesn’t mean the manufactures have.

so after the equipment is ready... testing done... lists printed..

how is this going to make racing equipment even... ?

legal to the rules and still good cheaters will pass.. and legal car equipment will be classified cheaters.. at the races.

I know.. same OLD arguments.. since the early 90's.
I will not support any racing league.. or any big race..
electric rc racing for 28 years..
I do not expect an answer.. as there is NOT ONE.
,

I race for the fun of racing..
