Ryan Maifield and Hobbywing?

Anybody know what happened? For the Reedy Race he was running hobbywing but seems to have switched back to Orion... he made the announcement beginning of 2018 he was leaving orion for hobbywing but he's back.

He was on a trial with Hobbywing, which Orion was ok with. He is sticking with Orion.

He also now uses Protek Servos I believe.

Honest question, does it matter what some dude runs?

Not really. I look for best performance for my dollar. I know a lot of people though do and they always have to run out and get the latest and greatest what the pros run.

Dollar vs performance is such an important thing. I really like hobbywing for that.

If it's good enough to beat any/everyone else in the world, it's one less excuse for me losing!

I think it has less to do with performance and more with skill but I guess what wins on Sundays sells on Mondays.

Yes, but do we posses the talent to use it to its fullest ability?:confused::nod::batman:

Seems like a ploy by Orion. Let him test the comp so he can say it wasn't as good? Buy Orion. Hmm Also did the same thing to pro-tek servos. What company says yea while you're a sponsored driver you can check out the comp and then get back to us? None. Bet HW and Pro-tek didn't know he was still a contracted driver. Didn't HW actually do a new driver expose?

Surely if they were doing it right it would be a contractual requirement to reveal that information.
