Default ROAR Triple A Format

I watched the Modified Touring A mains Sunday night when I got home from the track

This morning I wake up and Hebert finished third???

If I have done my maths correctly, they must do 0 points for a win??

Anyways, we all know Paul Lemieux wiped the crc carpet with Hebert and was the third place finisher by any normal logic

This system is broken, I don't think anyone involved is really that worried about it, both Kevin and Paul have way too long a list of accomplishments to care, but nonetheless, the system doesn't work

Change my mind

Are we looking at the same results?

The LiveRC points you found are completely wrong from what I know, dunno what's up with that, but Isaacs won and Gee finished 2nd, podium pic has Hebert third?

Edit: Just found the points in the frontpage article, it came down to tiebreaker, but that is kinda the point, Paul beat Kevin twice by one position, Kevin beat Paul once by one position, I no understand how this can be right

I've got no idea why the results from LiveRC don't match that from the actual results.

Here's the tie break rules:

b) AAA main system:
(1) AAA mains will be run at all electric nationals. If a particular class at the electric
national event does not have two (2) full heats of entrants, AAA mains may
not be performed.
(2) AAA main results will be decided by a point system based on 10 points for the
winner of each separate main on down to 1 point for the tenth placed finisher
in each separate main. A driver winning the first two mains must sit out the third.
(3) The best two out of three mains will count with the first tie breaker being the total of
the laps and time of each driver s two highest pointed mains. Subsequent ties
are broken by the single best laps and time of either highest pointed main.
Paul beat Keven twice, but the time Keven beat Paul, it was by a larger margin, therefore winning the tie break. Although... the points specified in this rule don't match the points actually awarded. It looks like LiveTime was set to use IFMAR scoring with ROAR tiebreak. Though that wouldn't have actually changed the result.

I get all that, I guess the point I'm trying to make is that the tiebreakers are just plain wrong in this case, again, not the biggest issue in the world, but maybe we should revisit the tiebreakers

LiveTime has 3 main options for tie break.

IFMAR: Tie break is single best position. Keven got a 1st, Paul got a 2nd. Keven would have won the tie break.

ROAR: As previously discussed, Keven won the tie break.

Traditional: Basically the same as ROAR, but the two fastest runs regardless of whether they were the highest scoring in points are considered. They just so happen to be the same rounds in this case, Keven wins the tie break.

I don't know what ETS, EFRA and others use as their tie break rules, so I can't compare those. I run under AARCMCC rules and the first tie break clause is points from single best run. Keven would have won there too.

Basically the theme is that only 2 runs count, the results of the worst run is largely irrelevant. Keven got a 1st and a 4th, Paul got a 2nd and a 3rd. I don't see that as a convincing win for Paul.

The problem was the timing system and missed laps, not the Triple A format.
