Default Small Track vs Big Track?

Hi All,

In the RC world, for touring cars (or VTA, WGTR, 1/12th, etc) on carpet, What is considered a Small track and what is considered a Big track?

The track that I intend to race at has a front stretch that's probably 15 yards 'ish long and about 10 yards 'ish wide. Lap times in general for most classes are around 10 seconds or so. (I could be off on the times a bit.)

Thanks!

45x30 feet is quite small. I run on a 55' x 29' track and can't imagine running anything but micros on a smaller track. We run 17.5 TC, 17.5 1/12th, 13.5 foam WGT and a spec Legends class. Fast lap times for 1/12th scale and WGT are in the low 6-second range on our current layout. Where is this track? Have pictures or video?

I would say an average track in the US is three "short" rolls of carpet or 80 x 36 feet. A big track is four "long" rolls of carpet or 100 x 48 feet.

You nailed it!

I was waaaay off on my estimates of the size!

I just found out that the track is 88' by 40'. It was referred to by a member as a "good size track." Thanks all!

.
14 second lap.. is small

our outdoor dirt track is 50 seconds per lap.. 2 wheel drive. 17.5 motor.
44 seconds for 4x4 with 10.5 motor....

smallest carpet track I have seen.. very high bank carpet.. 5 seconds.. it was called a fish bowl.. and looked it..
