I belong to another forum with over 150,000 members and they switched to a voluntary subscription model. For $25, $50, or $100 year we can place for sale ads, get more inbox space and photo albums, and no Ads. Members don't have to pay to use the forums, and those who don't, still see the ads and generate revenue. That forum is doing very well financially and runs on it's own dedicated servers.

the over use of ads on this forum is killing my user experience here - smashing my mozilla browsers resources and just eff's everything up.
Would gladly pay an annual fee ... for the ability to do sales listings and BUY.

OK I’m confused if I pay for the membership does it remove the ads? It’s not free so I would hope that the ads will be removed. If the elite membership doesn’t remove the ads is there something that you can pay for to remove the ads? The ads have really turned me off over the last couple years. Thanks

when you gonna get rid of this guy? I mean HE doesn't need to go, but his moderator privileges certainly should be taken away.
This is the dude that deleted thread, and still threatens that.
I was gonna go elite, but can't justify it if Mods like Marcos are allowed to troll and just act like asshats in general.

There are some browsers that straight up do not allow ads running on a spider crawler script on the java, thou allow most embedded ads to work as normal with upto 15% of the weighted viewable space allowed. I am not sure what changed but something after 2010 the ad space doubled and alot of main stream browsers now have a hole the size of a city bus so they can retrieve and track your typical spending habits and plug that ad into all the other ads in apps that allow scrupulous business partners to steal your hashed out bitcoin before you can buy your next monster drink, shades for your house, or windows and the ever important warranty extension on that car you never had sent to your vacation mailbox on sunday.
