And it always seems to be when we get this completely unrelated ads that it happens. You really think they could do a better job of product placement? I swear its these "adchoices" ones like the one in the screenshot to the right. In fact i caught this one right as it tried to auto forward me to the app store. Can see the url up top.

Yep, this is the problem I saw a few days ago on this site that made it unusable for me on my iPhone. So I created this thread in the Chat Lounge section: http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-tech...rbage-ios.html

The thread has since been moved to this section and I've discovered this thread.

You can use an online base 64 decoder like https://www.base64decode.org/ to view the content of the gibberish above.

After decoding the message it's apparent that it contains the HTML and javascript code to do the annoying popup that opens the App Store on iOS.

Below is the decoded text:
{quote}
<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><meta charset="UTF-8"/><script type="application/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js"></script><script type="application/javascript" src="http://ftlabs.github.io/fastclick/lib/fastclick.js"></script><title></title><style>#main,#popup{background:rgba(255,255, 255,255)}body{font-family:Helvetica "Helvetica Nueue" Arial}#main{margin:0 auto;width:100%;height:100%;position:fixed;top:0;r ight:0}#overlay,#popup,.button-holder{position:absolute}#overlay{background:rgba( 0,0,0,.3);top:0;left:0;right:0;bottom:0}#popup{wid th:250px;height:128px;z-index:10;border-radius:15px;text-align:center;box-sizing:border-box;left:50%;top:50%;margin:-64px 0 0 -125px;font-size:14px}#popup h3{margin:0;padding:20px;line-height:22px}#popup p{margin:0;padding:0}#popup .button-holder a{color:#007AFF;text-decoration:none;line-height:45px;display:block;border-top:1px solid #efefef;font-size:16px}#popup .two-button a{width:50%;float:left;box-sizing:border-box}#popup .two-button a:first-child{border-right:1px solid #efefef}.button-holder{width:100%;bottom:0}</style> <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, minimum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no, minimal-ui"></head><body> <div id="main"> <div id="overlay"></div><div id="popup"> <h3> <p>Open this page in "App</p><p>Store"?</p></h3> <div class="button-holder two-button"> <a><b>Cancel</b></a> <a>Open</a> <div style="clear: both"></div></div></div></div><script type="application/javascript">$(document).ready(function(){var executed=false; $(function(){FastClick.attach(document.body);}); document.addEventListener('click', function(e){if (!executed){window.open("http://vumhd.voluumtrk2.com/f85d7dcc-d8b8-44dd-ac78-99cbdce1d93e?aff_sub2=7f39f1c8-8974-4e54-b018-fb24159bb772_1487444400&aff_sub3=APPNEXUS&aff_sub4 =728x90&domain=rctech.net&domain_id=ecad83b6e589c9 849507fa26cd69b27e&aff_sub6=1120796"); setTimeout(function(){window.history.back();}, 3000); executed=true;}window.ontouchmove=null;}, false); window.ontouchmove=preventDefault; setTimeout(function(){window.ontouchmove=null;}, 15000);});function preventDefault(e){e=e || window.event; if (e.preventDefault) e.preventDefault(); e.returnValue=false;};</script></body></html>
{quote}

That's the popup causing Javascript.

Same here, had it happen again yesterday. Pretty sure its the shady guys getting through the ad networks. It's pretty common in internet marketing.. They'll get a fresh account, publish compliant ads until they establish a good standing, then start pushing stuff like the re-direct crap until they get banned. Probably why we went a spell without any issues.

Hello Folks,

I'm asking that more information is provided when submitting bad ads/mobile hijacks.

What we need is the following:

1. Screenshot (which you've all been posting, awesome)
2. The URL of where you're being redirected
3. Device/Operating System
4. Country you're in when you get the ad
5. Your IP address

This extra info will help us get to the bottom of this issue.

Thanks,
Tyson
